Two REM stations, a network of cycling paths along the river and lake, and local experiences centered on maple, fruit and cider give Deux-Montagnes several ways to shape a stay.

Getting Here, Cycling Paths and Water

The city of Deux-Montagnes has two REM stations: Deux-Montagnes and Grand-Moulin. Their names provide concrete reference points for planning your journey. The La Vagabonde cycling network runs along the Rivière des Mille-Îles and Lac des Deux-Montagnes and passes through Saint-Eustache, Deux-Montagnes, Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac, Oka and Saint-Placide. The route therefore extends across several municipalities while following both waterways.

La Vagabonde is considered suitable for cyclists of all levels and especially family-friendly. Its paved route, away from roads, is considered safe. If cycling is the focus of your stay, you’ll find a route that takes in several places and landscapes.

Two parks offer different ways to spend time by the water. Parc linéaire Aimé-Struthers has a path along the Rivière des Mille-Îles with views of the river, as well as a boat launch. At Parc du Centenaire, water sports enthusiasts can rent non-motorized boats such as kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddleboards. For Deux-Montagnes residents, rentals are free in 2026 with a valid resident card.

Railway and Landscape History

Parc Bélair is home to the restored Canadian National Railway locomotive CN 6710. It recalls Deux-Montagnes’ railway history and operated for 75 years, until the railway network was modernized in the 1990s. Together with the two REM stations, it illustrates different chapters in the city’s rail transport history.

La Marche d’Alphonse passes through historic urban areas, rural landscapes, protected natural areas and small family-run agrotourism businesses. In Vieux-Saint-Eustache, the recurring Festival de la galette adds a distinct cultural touch: the program includes traditional music and dancing, storytelling and historical reenactments. The route and festival appeal to different interests—changing landscapes along the way, or music, stories and historical scenes at a festival venue.

Maple Season, Harvest and Cider

During maple syrup season, Cabane Ă  sucre Constantin serves a traditional all-you-can-eat menu, with dishes prepared at home by the Constantin family. As the offering is seasonal, check the dates for the relevant season before planning your visit. Other activities include horse-drawn sleigh rides, a mini-farm and hiking. A visit to the evaporator facilities is available by reservation; some activities are seasonal or require reservations.

Throughout the year, Labonté de la pomme offers 25 varieties of fruit and vegetables for picking. Harvest dates vary by season. Cidrerie Lacroix showcases apples through its ciders, orchard and dining options. The culinary offerings therefore differ: maple meals and pick-your-own produce are seasonal, while the cidery offers cider, an orchard and dining.
