Rancharia brings together squares, cultural venues, and stories of local history. Praça do Cristo is a tourist and historic site; a mural at Praça da Baixada highlights important chapters in the municipality’s history. Together, these places offer different ways to experience Rancharia: public squares, historical depictions, and cultural events.

Squares, Murals, and Cultural Venues

In 2003, Law No. 204/2003 named Praça do Cristo Praça Alcides Paulino da Silva. The name honors Alcides Paulino da Silva as a pioneer of the municipality. The square’s tourist and historic significance is thus linked to the memory of a municipal pioneer.

At Praça da Baixada, you can view a mural about Rancharia’s history. It depicts the railway, sugar cane, coffee, cattle ranching, and the industrialization period associated with the Matarazzo company. Its subjects range from transportation and agriculture to the municipality’s industrial history.

Benches and lampposts at Praça da Igreja Matriz have been repaired and repainted. The public square is considered welcoming and suitable for residents and tourists alike.

Centro Cultural Professor Laércio Boim is used for cultural performances. Maculelê, Samba Rural, a guitar orchestra, and capoeira have all been performed there. Museu Municipal Manir Haddad is considered a cultural attraction in Rancharia and is located in Vão de Vidro. In 2021, the book “Baú de Memórias de Rancharia 2” was presented there. It continues the stories and accounts of residents featured in “Baú de Memórias de Rancharia 1.” Alongside squares and murals, Rancharia also puts performances and local memories in the spotlight.
