Get to know Itaipulândia through its religious landmarks, cultural collections and a variety of water activities. The attractions and leisure activities are located partly in the municipality and partly in the surrounding area.

Religious landmarks in the municipality

The Monumento de Nossa Senhora Aparecida stands in Bairro Caramuru. The sculpture is 26 meters high and is considered the largest sculpture of Nossa Senhora Aparecida in Latin America. State Law 13.193/01 established the monument as a religious tourism hub in Paraná. Pilgrims come from Brazil and abroad. Its height, religious dedication and tradition of attracting pilgrims from across the region make it a notable destination for travelers interested in religious sites.

Another religious destination in the municipality is the Santuário do Divino Pai Eterno. It was inaugurated on Morro do Divino Espírito Santo in São José do Itavó, Itaipulândia. According to a municipal announcement from 2024, the chapel was intended to be open to the general community. If you are planning a visit, check in advance whether it is currently accessible.

Culture and community life

Itaipulândia’s historical and cultural archive displays photographs, documents and objects relating to the past of the city and its surroundings. The Acervo das Águas includes two black-and-white mosaics made from aerial photographs, showing Itaipulândia’s early development. The two collections offer different perspectives: the archive brings together a range of historical materials, while the mosaics portray the city’s development from an aerial perspective. If you plan to visit the archive, it is advisable to check access arrangements in advance.

The Paço Tancredo Neves is the seat of the municipal government and an architectural attraction. Praça Padre Izidoro Royer is a place to stroll and meet up with friends and family. Alongside religious destinations, the municipality also offers civic architecture, historical collections and a square for walks and gatherings.

Water activities and accommodation

The Terminal Turístico Linha Jacutinga is located near Itaipulândia. It offers camping facilities for 500 tents and 20 chalets for overnight stays. Other amenities include kiosks with barbecue facilities, restaurants, changing rooms and toilets. An artificial beach stretches for about 700 meters. If you are considering staying in a chalet or want to use specific facilities, check their current availability in advance.

In the municipality, Itaipuland Thermas Park & Resort offers indoor swimming pools, a wave pool, a zip line and a 1080-degree water tube slide. The park also features “Dino,” an interactive dinosaur that is 42 meters tall and has a large slide. Attractions may be interrupted for maintenance or due to weather, so plan according to current availability. The park’s water activities and the artificial beach at the terminal are different options for shaping your stay.

Events at different times of year

ItaVerão is a traditional sporting event held from December to March at Balneário Turístico de Linha Jacutinga, also featuring cultural attractions. A 2019 tourism brochure describes the Festa Internacional do Dourado no Carrossel as an annual event held in November at Balneário de Jacutinga. It commemorates the anniversary of Itaipulândia’s municipal emancipation. The two events take place at different times of year. Check the latest dates and program before your trip.

Accommodation and planning your visit

When choosing where to stay, you can first consider whether camping or a chalet at the Terminal Turístico Linha Jacutinga suits your plans. The listed facilities include camping for 500 tents and 20 chalets; contact the site to check current availability if interested. If religious destinations, collections or events are your main focus, factor access arrangements or current dates into your plans. This makes it possible to explore Itaipulândia according to your interests without treating its different places and activities as interchangeable.
