In Ampflwang Im Hausruckwald, visitor attractions range from a heritage railway with an industrial history to a green space, horse riding and other activities. These different themes give you several ways to decide what to focus on during your stay.

Railway and industrial history

The 10.5 km route between Timelkam and Ampflwang runs along the former coal railway of Wolfsegg-Traunthaler Kohlewerks AG. Historic steam and diesel locomotives and railcars operate there in rotation. The former coal railway connects to the museum grounds and is now operated as a heritage railway. The combination of the former coal railway, today’s museum operation and historic rolling stock gives the railway a clear connection to industrial history.

Green space and riding centre

A green space with a Celtic tree circle lies around the Brecher Buchleiten. It is suitable for a short walk or for spending some time outdoors. Its focus differs from the riding and course activities: here, the emphasis is on a short walk and the chance to spend time in a green setting.

The Hausruckhof Riding Centre has two indoor arenas, an oval track, a sand arena and a round pen. It is directly connected to the network of leisure trails. Riders receive professional training and instruction there, from beginner level through to competition. During school holidays, riding camps are also offered for children who want to take a holiday without their parents. Lessons and camps have different focuses: training ranges from beginner level to competition, while the camps are tied to school holiday periods. If you are planning to include a camp in your trip, check the exact dates.

Activities in Hausruckpark

The 3D archery course in Hausruckpark offers three different routes with over 40 targets, passing through a variety of vegetation. The laser tag playing area covers 1,200 m² across three levels. The two activities can be distinguished by different features: for archery, these are the routes, number of targets and vegetation; for laser tag, the area and number of levels. The Nordic Walking Genuss Expedition is also part of Ampflwang’s visitor attractions. As a walking activity, Nordic walking differs from archery and laser tag.
