The start of the Tuxbach Adventure Trail in Tux-Vorderlanersbach is signposted opposite the Maria-Hilf Chapel, near Hotel Alpenjuwel. The trail runs between Tux-Vorderlanersbach and Hintertux, is 10.2 km long and is an easy family adventure trail. As trail conditions can vary seasonally, check the route before setting out.

Hikes with Different Profiles

The Penken–Wanglalm Alpine Panorama is a moderately difficult one-way route covering 12.7 km and ending in Tux-Vorderlanersbach. The Moorlehrpfad-Naturwelt trail also ends there: it is also moderately difficult, 6.9 km long and has an educational focus on nature. As one-way routes, neither ends at the starting point, so plan your return separately.

The three hiking trails can be compared by length and route. At 10.2 km, the adventure trail falls between the Moorlehrpfad and the Alpine Panorama. The two moderately difficult one-way routes end in Tux-Vorderlanersbach, while the easy Tuxbach Trail runs between this village and Hintertux. This lets you weigh up distance, difficulty and endpoint together. The Tux Valley Hiking Trail also starts in Tux-Vorderlanersbach and ends in Hintertux, like the Tuxbach Adventure Trail.

Chapels and Historic Waypoints

The Maria-Hilf Chapel took on its present form in the early 19th century in the post-Baroque style. The Barbara Chapel was built in 1953 above Tux-Vorderlanersbach, near the former magnesite works. Their historical reference points differ: for Maria-Hilf, its present form is what stands out; for the Barbara Chapel, it is the year it was built and its location near the former works.

Gemais is also a historic point of interest along a route: the protected farmhouse settlement lies on the Zentrale Tuxer Talrunde, which then continues to Tux-Vorderlanersbach. The route thus combines a protected settlement ensemble with the onward stretch to the village.

Indoor Play Park in Vorderlanersbach

The Playarena Tux stands apart from the hiking trails as an indoor destination. The 1,200 m² indoor play park includes trampolines, a climbing park and a high ropes course. The address is Vorderlanersbach 286, A-6293 Tux-Zillertal. Anyone looking to compare different types of activities will find a clearly defined indoor offering alongside the outdoor tours.

Cycling Route and Practical Information

For mountain bikes or e-mountain bikes, the moderately difficult Tux-Vorderlanersbach–Geiselhöfe–Geiseljoch route starts in Tux-Vorderlanersbach and ends at Geiseljoch. The route is 12.1 km long, reaches a maximum elevation of 2,292 m and has a stated duration of two hours. Length, maximum elevation and duration provide different points of reference for comparing tours. Check the route conditions and access again before setting off.

The TestbrĂĽcke in Tux-Vorderlanersbach serves as an access point for cross-country skiing. A day parking area is available for a tour starting in the village. Check its availability and operating rules before travelling, as both may change.
