The Prehistoric Trail leads to the hamlet of Feuring, with its stately farmhouses and tall village lime tree. Cycling and running routes also pass through this part of town. Specifically, the Brixental Cycle Path runs through Feuring, while the Brixen Running Trail passes through the Brixner Gangl on its way into the area. Horse-riding lessons at Weberhof offer another activity.

Hiking between geological history and the village landscape

The Prehistoric Trail is one of the four circular routes of the Brixen Hiking Butterfly and explores the history of the Earth. It leads to the hamlet of Feuring, with its stately farmhouses and tall village lime tree. The route thus connects a geological theme with a specific destination in the area. Feuring is also a notable waypoint on the Brixner Gangl. Along this route, the hamlet has preserved much of its original rural character.

After the hamlet, the Brixner Gangl follows the Brixental Ache stream to the “Werkstatt Natur” nature workshop. The Brixen Running Trail passes through the Brixner Gangl into Feuring, then continues along a varied forest and meadow trail. The routes diverge after Feuring: the Gangl follows the stream to the Werkstatt Natur, while the Running Trail continues along the forest and meadow section.

Cycling through Feuring

The Brixental Cycle Path runs through Feuring; this section follows a municipal road shared with motor traffic. The Schwarzsee handbike tour also follows the Brixental Cycle Path through Feuring. The Westendorf–Schwarzsee–Westendorf route also passes through the area and is an easy family route. It is 28.2 km long and takes two hours. Published route details may change if the route is measured again. For planning purposes, it is helpful to distinguish between them: shared-road traffic applies to the Feuring section of the Brixental Cycle Path, while the two-hour duration refers to the Westendorf–Schwarzsee–Westendorf route. Keep the shared-road traffic in mind when choosing this cycling section.

Horse riding and a point-to-point hike

At Weberhof in Feuring, beginners can get their first experience on horseback on the lunge line; group and private lessons are also available. The activity requires advance booking. Unlike the routes mentioned above, this is instruction at a farm. You can therefore include riding lessons as a separate activity in your travel plans.

The Hopfgarten–Fieberbrunn hike also passes through Feuring in its second section. This section runs from Kirchberg railway station via Feuring, Winkl and Brixen im Thale to Westendorf railway station. The hike is accessible by train and bus. Check current timetables for your travel date, as services may change; in winter, you should also consider trail conditions. The section between the stations differs from a loop such as the Prehistoric Trail: it connects two endpoints rather than returning to the starting point.
