When it comes to routes associated with Graschuh, it is worth considering two questions separately: Does a route actually lead into the residential area, or only in the direction of the village, and which route sections follow one another? The Southern Hills Loop leads into the village and onward to Tomberg; other routes head in the direction of Graschuh. Sections along the stream, through fields and forests, and along roads also distinguish the routes.

Hiking routes by village connection and course

The “Stainz Southern Hills Loop No. 7” hiking route leads from the Flascherlzug station into Graschuh’s residential area. It then follows field paths and climbs through a longer stretch of forest to Tomberg and the Apfelstraße. On this tour, Graschuh is one section of the route; the path continues to Tomberg and the Apfelstraße. This sequence makes the route interesting for visitors who want to understand not only a place name, but also the transition from a residential area to field and forest paths.

On “Stainz-Schauen,” the route heads in the direction of Graschuh after a stretch through the forest; it then follows a forest track along the Stainzbach. The “Around the Stainzbach No. 6” hiking route first follows the stream and then a quiet paved road to Ettendorf. The order is a useful distinction: on No. 6, the stream comes at the start of the route, while on Stainz-Schauen it comes after the forest section and the stretch heading toward Graschuh. The types of path that follow also differ: a forest track on Stainz-Schauen and a paved road on No. 6. The Southern Hills Loop leads into Graschuh’s residential area, while Stainz-Schauen heads in the direction of the village.

Running route and group hike

The “Evening Run” running route starts at Stainz Castle. It first follows Hochfeldweg and then runs along the Stainzbach. It heads in the direction of Graschuh and continues to Stallhof. For orientation, it helps to distinguish the starting point from the order of the route sections: Stainz Castle is the starting point, Hochfeldweg is the first section, and the stream comes next. This makes it possible to distinguish this running route from the hiking routes without confusing the places mentioned.

For group hikes, the UTV Stainz hiking group meets on the first Sunday of every month. It goes on hikes in and around Stainz lasting 3–5 hours and covering 15–20 kilometres. These time and distance details provide a concrete planning guide for the group hikes. Check the participation details before joining, as the published schedule may change.
