The Krimml Panorama Trail leads from Krimml towards Oberkrimml. This gives your trip a specific hiking connection. In Krimml, the Krimml WasserWelten also offer an interactive water-themed attraction. The waterfalls and the Krimmler Achental add distinctive natural features to these themes. This brings a trail, a water experience and striking landscape features together in your travel plans.

Water as an experience, exhibition and natural feature

The Krimml WasserWelten are an interactive, water-themed experience for the whole family in Krimml. The “Faces of Water” exhibition in the House of Water explores the journey of water. The two offerings differ within the water theme: WasserWelten focuses on an interactive experience, while the exhibition focuses on water’s journey. The Krimml Waterfalls are a key landscape feature: they plunge 380 metres over three stages and are Europe’s largest waterfalls. An observation terrace at the Waterfall Centre offers views of the Krimml Waterfalls.

For families: interactive experiences or walking

Both WasserWelten and the Krimml Panorama Trail are suitable for the whole family, but they offer different types of outings: an interactive water experience or a hike towards Oberkrimml. Families can therefore choose based on the activity they want. The fact that both are family-oriented does not, by itself, tell you which kind of outing better suits your plans.

Comparing the hiking trail and the valley

The Krimmler Achental is the longest and highest-altitude valley in the Venediger Group. Length and elevation refer to two different features; both comparisons are in relation to the Venediger Group. Together with the Panorama Trail, this offers another perspective on the landscape: the trail leads towards Oberkrimml, while the Achental is distinguished by its position within the mountain group. If you want to consider scenery and activity separately, you can choose between a specific hiking route and a valley with two notable comparative features.

Plan your journey and visit

You can reach the Krimml WasserWelten by car, the Pinzgau Railway, bus or taxi. A car park and a bus stop are located right by the centre. When choosing between car and bus, these facilities are useful points of reference: both the car park and the bus stop are right by your destination. A combined ticket that includes parking fees is available at the Waterfall Centre. The Krimml Waterfalls are accessible to visitors with limited mobility; check the conditions for the specific route before your visit. Also check current transport and ticket information before setting off.

Gerlos Alpine Road

The central section of the Gerlos Alpine Road is a twelve-kilometre route from Krimml to the Pinzgauer Höhe pass. The length refers to this section, with precisely these endpoints. If you plan to include the road in your journey, check seasonal traffic conditions before you set off.
