Several kinds of active recreation come together in Sankt Corona Am Wechsel. In summer, hiking and mountain biking routes lead through green forests and gentle alpine pastures; there are also biking and exercise activities, as well as a themed hiking trail. Corona’s Ski Land offers a seasonal contrast. When planning, it helps to first decide whether you want to focus your stay mainly on trails, a hike or winter activities.
Mountain biking: from the trail park to the children’s trail
The Wexl Trails cater to mountain bikers of all ages and skill levels. At the trail park, you can learn and improve your mountain biking skills. Other facilities include bike rental, a bike school and lift transport. You can choose what to focus on: working on your riding skills, renting a bike or using the lift transport.
The Mini Bike Park has an easier children’s trail with gentle turns and low wooden features. A 90 m-long conveyor belt serves as a bike travelator.
Hiking trails and the Ant Trail
Corona’s Ant Trail is a 2.5 km-long themed hiking trail about the life of ants in the forest. It is free to walk and has 25 stations. Allow about 1.5 hours for the walk—a useful detail when fitting the trail into your day’s plans. At the highest point, there is a rest area with a reservoir pond, sun loungers and benches.
The themed trail gives a hike a clear focus; the other summer hiking and mountain biking routes lead through green forests and gentle alpine pastures. Corona’s Ant Trail is about the life of ants in the forest; the other summer routes are hiking or mountain biking trails.
Exercise stations and downhill rides
The Motorikpark® has 25 stations for motor skills, balance and fitness. They include coordination and climbing courses, a balancing workshop, a kite simulator and a water-ski wall. If you would rather try individual exercise stations than follow a themed trail, the Motorikpark offers a different kind of activity from Corona’s Ant Trail.
The Corona Coaster runs 850 m downhill, through steeply banked turns and spirals, reaching speeds of up to 40 km/h. Tickets are available at the ticket office or in the online ticket shop. Ticket packages may change, so check the current options before your visit.
Corona’s Ski Land and a cultural landmark
A ticket for Corona’s Ski Land includes use of all lift facilities. The Funline can be reached by drag lift and features steeply banked turns, waves and jumps. Winter operations and ticket conditions may change, so check the current operating and ticket conditions before your visit. This makes it easy to plan for Ski Land separately from the summer hiking and biking activities.
The Catholic parish and pilgrimage church of St. Corona is protected as a historic monument by decree. Its role as a parish and pilgrimage church adds a religious dimension to the sports and nature themes—a distinct focus for travelers also interested in pilgrimage sites.
