Landscape art, viewpoints and trails through the town come together in Sigleß. The walk-in octahedron is both an art installation and a viewing tower; the Sky Ladder and the Time Chair each add their own distinctive features to the landscape. When planning a stay, visitors can choose between these artworks, cycling routes, nature attractions and historical landmarks.

Landscape Art and Views

The 8.5-metre-high octahedron offers views through fourteen windows from its viewing tower. On a clear day, the view extends as far as Lake Neusiedl. The art installation is right beside the B32 cycle route, combining a specific art stop with a cycling route that passes through Sigleß.

The Sky Ladder stands on a hill in Sigleß and offers sweeping views as far as Lake Neusiedl. Heinz Bruckschwaiger created it in 1991/92 as his first landscape artwork. The Hexenhügel cycling route passes right by the Sky Ladder. For route planning that combines art and cycling, this is a particularly direct connection.

The Time Chair is also situated on a hill, east of Sigleß, and offers panoramic views of Lake Neusiedl. The landscape project includes a spiral path. A south-facing sundial stands at the top of its 2.5-metre-high mound. The Sky Ladder and the Time Chair therefore offer different points of interest: the story behind the creation of one artwork, and the spiral path and sundial at the other.

Trails and Nature in Focus

The Owl Trail runs for about 87 kilometres through Rosalia-Kogelberg Nature Park and Sigleß, and is signposted in both directions. The B32 Rosalia Cycle Route also passes through the town and is 58.87 kilometres long. These total lengths distinguish the routes but do not indicate how long a section in Sigleß takes. As route conditions can change, it is advisable to check the current route before setting out.

Well-maintained farm roads around Sigleß are ideal for extended walks and cycle rides. Rosalia-Kogelberg Nature Park is a protected nature park, and Sigleß is one of its municipalities. For years, undisturbed biotope areas have bordered the Siebenweidenkreis landscape project; the project also includes a pond fed by groundwater. The Old Lime Tree in Sigleß is designated a natural monument.

The Sigleß Climate Garden is located on the vineyard opposite the church, or north of the cemetery. This helps visitors locate it within the municipality without confusing it with the art and nature sites farther afield.

Historical Landmarks and Local Refreshments

The Olram Cross is a wayside shrine in the form of a tabernacle pillar dating from 1630. It is easily reached from the Hexenhügel cycling route. The Marienkapelle (Mary's Chapel) is a small gabled building dating from the second half of the 19th century. The parish church was consecrated on All Saints’ Day in 1733 and is therefore known as the Allerheiligenkirche (All Saints’ Church). The Sacrament Trail in Sigleß was created in 2006/2007.

Archaeological finds are also part of the town’s history: since 2007, annual excavation campaigns in the Sigleß Kloaschitzwald have uncovered numerous graves, most of them dating from the Late Avar–Carolingian period. This offers a different perspective on history from the visible chapels and wayside shrines: here, the focus is on the excavation findings and their historical dating.

For a break, the Genussheurige of Winegrowing Lassl serves a changing seasonal selection of cold dishes, various breads and homemade spreads. The Buschenschank run by Heuriger Glauber serves wine and a platter of regional specialities with bread. As Lassl’s food selection changes seasonally, it is worth checking whether it suits your planned visit date. Swimming lessons for non-swimmers are held every year at the Sigleß outdoor pool; if you plan to attend a course, check the specific dates in advance.
