Wine and Olive Oil Throughout the Department

The Maipú Wine Route stretches across the entire department. More than 40 wineries are open to tourists; there are also eight olive oil producers whose products are enjoyed by both tourists and locals. The types of visits vary: Olivícola Laur offers guided tours of its vinegar-making facilities and olive oil production, accompanied by specialist guides and sommeliers. Check reservation requirements and visit details in advance. At Bodegas López, visitors can observe the production of Federico López champagne using the Champenoise method and the production of Montchenot, López and Mont Reims using the Charmat method, and learn about the model vineyards. This means a guided tour and insights into specific production methods, along with model vineyards, are available as distinct experiences. Figures and visitor offerings may change.

Cultural Heritage Between the Wine Museum and the Stage

The Museo del Vino at Bodegas La Rural in Maipú was declared a site of tourist interest in 1990. Check current access arrangements before visiting. Paseo de los Eucaliptus is designated as a cultural and forestry heritage site of Maipú Department. The Cine Teatro Imperial Maipú also combines architectural history with a program of events: the Art Deco building dates from 1934 and reopened on June 6, 2013, following heritage restoration. Its offerings include films, music, theater and other events; the venue also presents a variety of live artistic events each week. Check the current schedule before your visit.

Plaza, Vendimia and Events

The recreational area of Plaza 12 de Febrero covers more than 2,000 square meters and has inclusive play equipment. Six sculptures of Mafalda and her friends line the promenade as a tribute to the character created by Mendoza-born artist Quino. The plaza thus combines a recreational area with a well-known figure from Argentine culture.

Vendimia is also celebrated on several levels. Maipú’s 2026 Vendimia calendar included twelve celebrations in the individual districts as a lead-up to the departmental Vendimia. In the wider destination of Mendoza, the Fiesta Nacional de la Vendimia takes place every year; from January to March, each of the province’s 18 departments holds its own harvest festival. The central Acto Central is staged at the Teatro Griego Frank Romero Day, with more than 1,000 performers on stage. This provincial tradition provides the broader context, while Maipú’s calendar lists celebrations at the individual district level.

An event held at the Teatro Griego Papa Francisco as part of the 2026 summer program brought together more than 30 wine and olive oil producers and offered tastings and talks. A music series in the same summer program gave bands from Mendoza the opportunity to perform outdoors. This information relates to the 2026 program; check for updated event dates when planning future visits.

Planning Information

A municipal tourism map published in July 2026 includes more than 200 listings spread throughout the department. Since its content and coverage may change, check the latest version of the map before using the listings for your planning. It is also worth confirming visit details directly with individual wineries and cultural sites, as well as checking reservations for guided tours.
