The city of Florida offers several cultural attractions: the celebration of Capilla San Cono, museums, a work of art and an audio guide tour featuring historical and cultural stories. When planning your trip, it is helpful to distinguish between the city of Florida and other places in Florida Department.

San Cono: Feast Day and Procession

Every year on June 3, tens of thousands of people visit Capilla San Cono. Calle RodĂł, where the temple is located, becomes a large fair as part of the religious and popular celebration. The festivities at the temple and the fair on the street are therefore part of the same feast day. If you are planning your visit specifically for this event, check the current schedule in advance.

The history of the procession is also connected to this date: the first procession departed from the temple on June 3, 1885, shortly after it was inaugurated. The celebration's historical roots therefore date back to the early period following the inauguration.

Museums and Art in the City

Behind Capilla San Cono, the Museo de Ofrendas displays numerous offerings of gratitude in large glass cases. Items on display include football jerseys, documents, pictures, scooters, bicycles, guitars and wedding dresses. The collection brings together a wide variety of objects, from documents and pictures to vehicles and clothing.

The Museo de Artes Visuales Ernesto Alexandro is named after the artist Ernesto Alexandro, who was born in Florida. Another work of art in Florida is an exact replica of Pablo Picasso's mural Guernica, created by local artist Jorge Romero.

Discover Florida with the Audio Guide

An audio guide tour offers historical and cultural stories about the city. It provides a thematic way to explore Florida alongside its individual museums and works of art. If you would like to take the tour, check the current usage details in advance.

Other Places in Florida Department

There are also distinctive cultural attractions outside the city. In 25 de Agosto, more than 70 murals were created on the façades of over 40 houses as part of an art project launched in 2010. In Alejandro Gallinal, the Complejo Arquitectónico el Carrillón includes a carillon: its bells are arranged according to a musical scale and can be played by hand or using a keyboard.

The Centro Cultural Casa de la Azotea in Capilla del Sauce can be visited by prior arrangement; check the current visiting arrangements in advance. In Fray Marcos, Senderos de Aquino offers guided hikes on land and on the water. Visits there must also be arranged in advance; check current availability beforehand.

This allows you to choose your search location based on the focus of your planned stay.
