Kimberly brings together cultural attractions, trails, water, and geocaching. Different priorities may shape your trip: a program at the amphitheater or Paperfest, a loop in Memorial Park, or the longer Loop the Locks. When planning, the main considerations are event dates, seasonal operating hours, and your preferred route length.

Culture at the Amphitheater and Paperfest

The Kimberly Amphitheater is a cultural and arts facility developed to create additional opportunities for programs, presentations, concerts, festivals, religious services, and wedding ceremonies. The Sunday evening series offers programs and is free. If you plan to attend on a Sunday evening during your trip, check the program for your preferred date.

Paperfest features multiple stages with more than 30 live music acts, as well as carnival rides, food trucks, sporting events, and family activities. The program may change from year to year. The Paperfest Craft & Vendor Fair includes more than 75 local vendors; their participation may vary with each edition. For planning purposes, the specific edition matters, rather than assuming the program is the same every year.

Water and Outdoor Activities

The Sunset Beach Swimming Facility has a sandy beach with an extensive shallow-water area. The facility also includes a diving pool and a waterslide. It operates seasonally; dates and hours may change. Plan your swim around the seasonal schedule and check the information for your trip.

A Rent.Fun kayak rental system is located at the Sunset Park Launch. When comparing the options, it helps to distinguish between them: the Sunset Beach Swimming Facility includes beach and pool areas, while the launch provides a specific starting point for a paddling activity.

Loop the Locks and Geocaching

Loop the Locks offers a choice of route lengths. A 0.25-mile paved loop runs through Kimberly’s Memorial Park. The central, seven-mile Loop the Locks connects Appleton, Combined Locks, Kaukauna, Kimberly, and Little Chute. This makes it possible to compare the short park loop with the longer regional route without treating them as the same distance.

Since 2018, the Village of Kimberly has built an estimated 1.8 miles of concrete trail to support Loop the Locks. Geocaching offers another way to explore Kimberly: a series of geocaches in Kimberly focuses on the area’s history. The Village of Kimberly has a well-developed geocaching system within its municipal boundaries.

Plan Your Stay Around Your Interests

A Sunday evening with free programming and a visit during a particular Paperfest edition call for different timing than a stay when the swimming facility’s seasonal hours are important. If your priority is being active, you can compare the short paved loop in Memorial Park with the seven-mile loop through the five communities.
