Morrow brings together a variety of visitor interests: historical records and exhibitions, performances at Spivey Hall, and trails at Reynolds Nature Preserve. To plan your visit, it helps to decide first whether you want to focus on research, experience live music, plan around an event, or spend time outdoors.

Archives and historical records

At the Georgia Archives, visitors can consult original records in person during regular research hours. The archives are open for research Tuesday through Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. As opening hours may change, check them before your visit. Visitor parking is available in the front parking lot on Jonesboro Road.

The Georgia Archives’ program combines independent research with guided insights: it offers genealogy workshops and exhibitions featuring historical documents. The exhibitions illustrate topics in Georgia history through primary sources; the archives also hold an annual history symposium. You can therefore shape your visit around either consulting original records or exploring history through exhibitions.

The reading room at the National Archives at Atlanta requires separate planning. It is open Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., by appointment only. Confirm your appointment and the opening hours in advance, as both may change. If you are interested in both archives, note their different visitor requirements and plan for their respective opening hours separately.

Spivey Hall: Music and tours

Spivey Hall is a 400-seat performing arts venue with exceptional acoustics. Since 1991, Spivey Hall has presented jazz and classical music in the greater Atlanta area. This gives it a different cultural focus from archival research: here, the emphasis is on music and performances.

Spivey Hall offers free group tours by appointment. Tours include the lobby, the backstage area, including the Green Room, and the stage. Parking directly outside the venue is free; Spivey Hall is fully wheelchair accessible. If you would like to include a tour in your visit, arrange it in advance.

Festivals and cultural events

Morrow hosts more than 15 festivals each year. Lunar New Year celebrates traditional Asian heritage and culture. During the annual Black History Month observance, Morrow celebrates African American culture across the eras with an elaborate event featuring a fashion show, an arts and film festival, and performances. If you want to plan your stay around a festival, check the event dates and details in advance, as they may change.

Loop trails at Reynolds Nature Preserve

Reynolds Nature Preserve covers 146 acres. Its hiking trails total three miles and are laid out in several loop trails. This trail layout is a distinct feature for visitors who want to focus on nature trails rather than archives, exhibitions or music events.

The Nature Center has live exhibits featuring native animals. A wheelchair-accessible path leads to the Nature Center, the butterfly garden and the adjacent trail through native plants. This information applies to the described path and its destinations; it does not make any claims about the accessibility of the other hiking trails.
