Discover Panama City through its large-scale murals, African American history, cultural offerings and food culture. To help plan your visit, start with a question: would you like to focus on art in public spaces, local history, events, or food and crafts?

Murals and History in Different Formats

The self-guided Panama City Mural Trail features more than 15 works of art and runs throughout the city. It stretches from St. Andrews through Downtown Panama City to Millville. The trail is therefore not limited to a single mural, but spans several named areas. The Glenwood Historical District Sign Trail takes a different approach: interpretive signs share the African American history, community development and resilience of Glenwood. The two offer different ways to experience history and culture side by side: large-scale murals in public spaces and signs telling the story of a community.

Museum and Guided Tours in St. Andrews

The Panama City Publishing Company Museum preserves and showcases local history, cultural resources and historic printing arts. The building was constructed in 1920 in historic St. Andrews. The museum’s mission therefore extends beyond printing arts, while the building’s construction date gives it its own historical significance.

Guided tours are also offered in the historic district of St. Andrews, providing insight into the community there. This format differs from the self-guided Mural Trail. If a guided tour is important to your visit, check the current schedule in advance.

Art and Events at the Center for the Arts

The Panama City Center for the Arts hosts live events and family-friendly activities. Admission to the Center is free. It is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; on Fridays, it stays open until 7 p.m. Check the opening hours before your visit, especially if a visit to the Center is important to your day’s plans.

Saturday Market and Food Culture

The Market at St. Andrews is a year-round farmers market on the waterfront. It takes place every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Oaks by the Bay Park in historic St. Andrews. The market focuses on farm produce, food and crafts. For a weekend stay, Saturday morning is therefore a specific time to plan around. Weather can affect market operations; if the market is an important part of your plans, check for current updates before you visit.

Carl Gray Park is another waterfront destination in Panama City. The two offerings are different in nature: one is a park, the other a waterfront farmers market. On February 21, 2026, the Bay County History Museum opened the Smithsonian FOOD exhibition “Bayside Bounty – The Culinary Heritage of Bay County.” It explores the culinary history of Bay County. If you plan to visit the exhibition, check in advance whether it is still on display.

Plan Your Hotel Search Around Your Travel Interests

For planning your schedule, the Center for the Arts’ opening hours and the market’s Saturday morning hours are especially specific; for the exhibition, check whether it is currently on display.
