La Mirada offers parks, water activities, golf and theater. If you are planning an overnight stay, you can choose where to stay based on your interests: is your main focus spending time outdoors, swimming, golf or culture? The different offerings provide concrete points to help you decide.

Parks and outdoor activities

La Mirada’s network of public facilities includes eight parks, four sports facilities, a gymnasium, an Aquatics Center and a performing arts theater. Across the city, there are 220 acres of parkland suitable for walking and picnicking. Individual facilities and programs may change.

La Mirada Community Regional Park is an elaborate 76-acre park with gentle hills and lush tree cover. The park also has several disc golf courses. This opens up different ways to spend time outdoors: you might focus on a walk or a picnic, or play disc golf. Fishing is permitted at La Mirada Park in La Mirada.

Swimming and water park

Splash! La Mirada Regional Aquatics Center and Buccaneer Bay differ in the types of water activities they offer. Splash! has a 50-meter competition pool, a 25-yard recreational and instructional pool, and a spa. Swimming lessons for all ages and ability levels are offered year-round; class times may change.

Buccaneer Bay is a family-oriented water park with a lazy river, three waterslides with catch pools, a six-lane mat racer and two body slides. It also has an interactive children’s play area, a zero-depth entry and two splash zones. Seasonal operating schedules may change, so check the dates when planning a visit.

Golf as a focus

The public La Mirada Golf Course is an 18-hole golf course. Practice facilities include two putting greens and a chipping green, as well as a two-tier, lighted driving range with 50 hitting stations. Of these, 25 are covered and 13 are on natural grass. This makes golf a distinct focus alongside the park and water activities. Information about the practice facilities may change.

History and theater

The Historic Neff Estate offers free tours on the third Saturday of each month from 2 to 4 p.m. Check the specific date before visiting. The estate includes three historic buildings: Neff Home, George House and The Neff Barn. The 11-room Neff Home was built in 1894 by architect Frederick Roehrig. Its features include a Spanish-style red tile roof and shingle exterior.

For theater enthusiasts, La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts presents award-winning plays and musicals in its McCoy Rigby Entertainment mainstage series. Another option is the Programs for Young Audiences series, which brings a diverse selection of national and international touring productions for children and families aged five and up to each season. Specific programs vary by season. The city therefore offers a range of cultural activities alongside opportunities for nature, sports and swimming.
