Bougy-Villars combines the expansive Parc Pré-Vert at Signal de Bougy with wine trails and a historic village centre. From Bougy-Villars, views stretch across the Lake Geneva basin to the Alps and Mont Blanc. This offers different ways to plan your visit: activities in the park, a wine walk or a tour of the village’s historic streetscape.

Signal de Bougy: Trails and Activities

Parc Pré-Vert at Signal de Bougy covers 110 hectares. From there, you can see Lake Geneva, the vineyards of La Côte and the Alps. Parc du Signal de Bougy has ten kilometres of trails that are accessible to everyone. The park and all the activities offered there are also accessible to people with reduced mobility.

Activities include mini golf and Parc Aventure. The mini-golf course is an approved 18-hole course and is accessible to everyone. Parc Aventure has 17 courses, five of which are reserved for children aged 4 to 7. Quick Jump gives you the sensation of free-falling, while Tyro Express consists exclusively of zip lines. As the course configuration may change, check which options are currently available before your visit. Secure play areas with slides, swings, mazes and climbing structures round out the activities.

For younger children, Miniville is an imaginative play area with 24 immersive themed worlds for children aged 1 to 6. Play sessions last between 45 minutes and 1 hour 30 minutes. This makes it easy to schedule differently from a visit focused mainly on the trails or the activities at Parc Aventure.

The animal park at Signal de Bougy is home to 23 animal species across more than 17,000 square metres. Animals you can see there include Tibetan goats, donkeys, pigs, rabbits, ducks, chickens and turkeys. The Maison des animaux magiques showcases small mammals, insects and reptiles. Les Ruches offers insights into bees, from the waggle dance of forager bees to honey production.

Art and nature also feature in the park: the Jardin de Madame displays 40 sculptures by artist Malbine. You can experience Bain de Nature using five introductory panels or four audio stations. The open-air amphitheatre is dedicated to art and culture and can host performances.

Wine Walk and Local Products

The Balade des Capites starts at Cave Meylan in Bougy-Villars. This wine tourism trail is organised around vineyard huts known as capites. Information panels and games introduce visitors to the local terroir and the work of winegrowers. The tour also includes a treasure hunt for children aged four and over.

The Balade des Capites is generally accessible and includes an accessible trail. Two stops are freely accessible for spontaneous visits; however, some interactive panels are not accessible to wheelchair users. If you would like to sample local products along the way, you can book a terroir backpack in advance. The wine walk combines information about the vineyards with a dedicated tasting option, while the park trails and mini golf offer different activity focuses.

Bougy-Villars has approximately three hectares of vineyards, mainly with the Féchy and Mont-sur-Rolle/Perroy appellations. Each year, the municipality bottles approximately 800 bottles of Chasselat and 300 bottles of rosé and red wine; quantities may vary. The wines are sold exclusively within the municipality to residents and shops.

Village History and Getting There

The historic streetscape of Bougy-Villars includes numerous farmhouses and winegrowers’ houses dating from the 18th and 19th centuries, some with architectural elements from the 17th century. The village temple is a white building from 1934 with a slender bell tower. The church has been preserved above the village, on Chemin du Signal-de-Bougy. The wine estate now known as Riencourt has a historic manor house; the central section of the wing facing the lake probably dates from the 15th century.

Getting there is also part of planning a visit to Signal de Bougy: the park can be reached on foot or by bicycle from Allaman railway station. The final stretch between Bougy-Villars and Signal de Bougy is relatively steep. By car, the park is a ten-minute drive from the A1 motorway. When looking for a holiday apartment in Bougy-Villars, you can first decide whether park activities, the Balade des Capites or the historic village streetscape will shape your stay.
