Vuiteboeuf is in the canton of Vaud, Switzerland. There are several ways to plan a stay here: short walks at the foot of the Rapilles, the La Boulatannaz trail in the Gorges de Covatannaz, longer routes with significant elevation gain, and village and transport history. Options range from leisurely strolls to challenging mountain hikes; when planning your day, consider whether nature, a sporting challenge or local history should take priority.

Hiking between the forest and the Jura slopes

The La Boulatannaz hike can also be done uphill from Vuiteboeuf to Sainte-Croix. The playful La Boulatannaz trail has ten stations in the Gorges de Covatannaz, starts at the Arnon River and stretches for approximately two kilometres. Individual installations may change.

At the foot of the Rapilles, a short hike leads from the road between Baulmes and Vuiteboeuf past a group of very old beech trees. The Rapilles-Covatannaz forest reserve has steep slopes, rocky escarpments and extensive limestone scree slopes; among its specialised forest communities, dry beech forests predominate. On the hiking trail that climbs the wooded slopes of the CĂ´te de Vuiteboeuf, you can see deep hollow ways, cart tracks cut into the rock and retaining walls.
