Les Rasses brings together cross-country ski trails, ski facilities, mountain biking routes and paths towards Le Chasseron as different reasons to visit. At the same time, Les Rasses is considered the starting point for the region’s tourism development.
Plan cross-country skiing and skiing according to the season
The Centre nordique des Rasses offers around 65 km of cross-country ski trails, with numerous loops for skiers of all ability levels. The trails are groomed every morning for both classic and skating styles, weather permitting and subject to seasonal operation. Parking for cross-country skiing is available in Les Rasses; parking options may change seasonally. Check trail grooming and parking conditions before setting out.
The Les Rasses ski area includes the Rasses I, Rasses II and Rasses III facilities. Their operating status is seasonal and may change over time. If you are planning your stay around these facilities, check their status in advance for your travel dates.
Mountain biking routes and different starting points
The Sainte-Croix / Les Rasses winter sports area offers several marked mountain biking routes. Check availability and markings on site before setting out. A 22 km mountain biking route starts in Les Rasses and leads to the region’s alpine chalets around the Chasseron massif. A 33 km mountain biking loop starts in Sainte-Croix and has 1,000 metres of elevation gain. The two routes differ in both starting point and length; the route from Sainte-Croix also includes the stated elevation gain.
The Suisse Mobile Route No. 3 also passes through Bullet / Les Rasses. It is possible to take a break there between stages 7 and 8. This offers a different cycling option from the two routes specifically described as mountain biking routes.
Hiking trails and views at Chasseron
From the Les Rasses or Les Cluds car park, a yellow-marked hiking trail leads via Le Rocher towards Le Chasseron. In summer, it is possible to drive from Les Rasses via the Route du Chasseron. A car park is about a 25-minute walk from the HĂ´tel-Restaurant du Chasseron. As this access route is seasonal, check conditions before driving.
Les Rasses is located in the Jura massif. The ski area is at an altitude of 1,150 m and reaches a maximum altitude of 1,583 m. From the summit of the Parcours du Chasseron, views extend for more than 250 km to the highest peaks of the Swiss and French Alps.
Archaeological trail and year-round activities
Nearby, the Balade archéologique du Chasseron follows a 2.3 km circular route. It starts at the car park below the Chasseron pastures, at an altitude of 1,437 m. Information panels in French and German are complemented by an audio description in French, accessible via a QR code. The panels are therefore available in two languages, while the audio version is in French.
The École suisse de ski Les Rasses – La Robella offers biathlon with laser rifles all year round. Availability may depend on booking arrangements, so check with the school what is possible for your preferred dates.
The Grand Hôtel des Rasses has an indoor swimming pool, heated to 27 °C and measuring 15.60 m × 6.65 m, which is open to the public. The spa includes a sauna, hammam, massage room, relaxation room and fitness room. Confirm access and facilities before your trip.
