Cremin lies above Lucens on a plateau west of the middle Broye Valley in the Vaud Plateau. For those planning a trip that combines outdoor activities and local history, there are several concrete options: the Lucens en 8 hike, golf activities and the built heritage.

Hiking between Lucens and Cremin

The Lucens en 8 hike is 11 kilometres long, follows two loops and passes through the village of Cremin. The first loop is 6.5 kilometres long and starts at Lucens railway station in the direction of Cremin. These figures refer to different sections of the route: 6.5 kilometres for the first loop and 11 kilometres for the entire hike. This lets you distinguish the length of the first section from that of the complete route.

At 653 metres, the Dent de Cremin is the highest point on the hike. The highest point in Cremin, however, is Petit CrĂŞt, north of the village, which reaches 670 metres. South of the village, the wooded hill of ForĂŞt de l'Envuissel stands at 656 metres. These figures therefore refer to different points: the high point on the route and the elevations around the village.

PostBus route 445 connects Lucens railway station with the Cremin, Village stop. If you are planning to travel by bus, check the timetable before your trip.

Golf activities and horse rides

Familigolf de Cremin has an 18-hole course measuring 2,500 metres. An introductory session is included in the admission price; the activity is for golfers of all ages and skill levels. The course is set in natural, green surroundings in the heart of the Broye. Familigolf also offers Swin-Golf, a golf-derived activity that is accessible to everyone.

Minigolf sur herbe in Cremin also has 18 holes and is set in natural surroundings. The facility covers 1,500 m². Both activities therefore have the same number of holes, but their dimensions are described differently: the Familigolf course is 2,500 metres long, while the area of the minigolf facility is given.

Ferme équestre La Perraire offers horse or pony rides throughout the year.

Village history and landscape

Cremin developed as a street village from the Middle Ages onwards. Its built heritage includes a school dating from 1842, a mill with a threshing floor, an oil mill and a bread oven. At La Perraire, a former barn was converted into a studio with an art gallery.

The former municipality of Cremin covered part of the molasse hill country between the Mentue Valley and the middle Broye Valley. Most of it consisted of a plateau averaging 640 metres above sea level.

The political municipality of Cremin existed until 31 December 2016. On 1 January 2017, it merged with Brenles, Chesalles-sur-Moudon, Forel-sur-Lucens and Sarzens to form the new municipality of Lucens.
