There are several different ways to experience Tollarp on a trip: trails start in Stackedala, a circular trail lies nearby in Klintabäcken Nature Reserve, and the Tollarp–Kristianstad cycle route section follows a fully paved former railway embankment. The railway era has also left visible traces. If you’re looking for a hotel in Tollarp, these differences can help you decide what to focus on during your stay: hiking, cycling, swimming or discovering the former railway town.

Walking Trails

The trails in Tollarp start at the FK Ă…sen clubhouse in Stackedala. The Stackedala recreation area lies immediately south of Tollarp and has several fitness trails. Trail conditions can vary seasonally, so take this into account when planning.

Klintabäcken Nature Reserve, near Tollarp, has a circular trail about 2.5 kilometres long. A longer alternative is the approximately 7.5-kilometre fitness trail that starts in Stackedala and runs through the nature reserve. The longer route is about three times as long as the circular trail; the route types also differ. Hiking in Klintabäcken takes you through stands of beech and other noble broadleaf trees, such as oak, lime and maple.

Cycling and Railway History

The Tollarp–Kristianstad cycle route section is a distinct option for cycling: the former railway embankment is fully paved along this stretch. While the walking trails differ in length and route type, the paved railway embankment is the defining feature of the cycle route. You can therefore choose based on whether you’d prefer to hike or cycle on a dedicated route.

After the railway was built in the 1880s, Tollarp developed into a railway town. Remnants of the railway era still found in Tollarp include a large depot for maintaining rail vehicles and a railway monument. The cycle route also follows the former railway line along an old embankment; the depot and monument are other surviving traces of the era.

Swimming and Places to Eat

At Tollarpsbadet, the swimming pool is 25 metres long. It has a shallow area for playing, a deep area and a diving tower.

In Tollarp, Tollarps fik och butik is a café and farm shop. This brings together two options in one place: a break at the café or shopping at the farm shop. Specific service details may change; check the latest information before your visit. Another place to shop at a farm store is Skogslidens Gårdsbutik, just outside Tollarp at the foot of Linderödsåsen; Tollarps fik och butik, by contrast, is in town and combines a farm shop with a café.
