Lavern brings different travel interests together with specific places to visit: culture at the Ateneu AgrĂcola, archaeological traces at the Torrota del Moro, and routes for cycling and walking. You can plan your stay around an event date, a historic site, or a route.
Culture and Festa Major
The Ateneu AgrĂcola de Lavern was founded in 1918. It has a theater and a bar-cafĂ©, and offers cultural and leisure activities. If you are planning a visit, check the current visiting arrangements and event conditions.
Lavern’s Festa Major takes place on the last weekend of June. Festive traditions include procession dances and festive animal figures. Dates and individual program events may vary from year to year. If you are traveling specifically for the festival, check the exact date and program against your travel plans.
Archaeological traces and a place to relax
The Torrota del Moro offers a specific glimpse of Lavern’s archaeological remains. Roman pottery finds have been identified on the surface. A wall also survives, with an average height of about 3.20 meters and a maximum width of 4.5 meters. The site is in cultivated land and 300 meters from Ca l’Almirall, in the Lavern area. The finds and measurements give this place a different focus from the cultural offerings or route planning.
At the Font de Ca l’Olivella, there is an area set up for visitors with a table, benches, and a waste bin. If you plan to include this spot in your itinerary, check the facilities in person before your visit.
Cycling and walking routes around Lavern
Lavern-Subirats station is a stop on Rodalies de Renfe’s R4 line. Timetables and train connections may change, so check the current schedule for your journey. The Enobicing Penedès area is located at the station, by the Riera de Lavernó. There, you can rent electric or conventional bicycles for the El Camà del Riu route. As rental options and reservation conditions may change, it is advisable to check in advance.
Lavern is connected to the Via Augusta Penedès and the Penedès 360º Slow Bike route. The Sant Sadurnà d’Anoia–Lavern route is listed as a specific walking stage, covering 5.60 kilometers. Another route through vineyards and wineries connects the settlements of Ca Batista, Can Bas, Ca l’Avi, Corral del Mestre, and Can Cartró with the town of Lavern. This information helps distinguish between a named walking stage, cycling connections, and a route through wine-growing areas.
The EstaciĂł VitivinĂcola de Lavern offers tourist information, bicycle rental, and an area for motorhomes. It is also the starting point for routes from Subirats. This complements the bicycle rental for El CamĂ del Riu at Enobicing Penedès with other tourist services and a route starting point. As municipal visitor services may change, check the current conditions before planning your trip around them.
