A Baroque church in the center, the Ebro flowing through Reinosa and historic stone buildings on Plaza del Ayuntamiento give the town several specific points of interest. This makes architectural history, festivals and riverside routes the main themes to consider when planning your trip. Depending on whether you prefer culture, regional cuisine or outdoor activities, you can explore different sides of the town.

Architecture and Townscape

The Iglesia Parroquial de San Sebastián is a Baroque church in the center of Reinosa. In 1982, it was declared a Bien de Interés Cultural and a Monumento-Artístico. Notable altarpieces and an organ of regional importance are among its defining features. Plaza del Ayuntamiento is also worth a look for its architecture: the stone buildings there date from the 16th and 17th centuries. The present-day town hall was inaugurated in 1935 in the neoclassical style; its facade is made of dressed stone.

Other buildings reflect different periods and styles. La Casona, also known as Casa de la Niña de Oro, is a neoclassical building dating from 1778 and a Bien de Interés Cultural. Casa de Pano, also known as Casa del Marqués de Cilleruelo, is an 18th-century Renaissance manor house on Calle Mayor. The street is also home to Fuente La Aurora, one of the municipality’s landmarks. The Teatro Principal retains original features on its exterior facade, including a portico with five arches. The Ayuntamiento de Reinosa owns the theater and currently organizes musical, theatrical and film events there; the program may change.

The Puente de Carlos III connects the two parts of town divided by the river. The course of the Ebro thus also helps orient visitors in the townscape. At Paseo del Quintanal, a footbridge crosses the river and leads to Finca de los Obeso; Parque de los Obeso also runs alongside the Ebro.

Festivals and Regional Cuisine

The San Sebastián festival is celebrated on January 20 in honor of the municipality’s patron saint. It includes the Concurso de Ollas Ferroviarias, where dishes are prepared with potatoes and beef. The festival is recognized as a Fiesta de Interés Turístico Regional. If you want to plan your trip around this date, check the program for that year.

Día de Campoo is also recognized as a Fiesta de Interés Turístico. Its parade of floats features scenes from traditional life representing different places in the valley. Future programs may vary, so check dates and events before planning your trip around them. Mercado Campurriano offers another opportunity to discover local products. This established market takes place annually; the 2026 edition is the 23rd. Producers and artisans from Campoo offer items including cheese, cured meats, honey, sweets and preserves. Check future market dates before planning a visit.

For a taste beyond the market stalls, try a Pantortilla: this puff pastry typical of Reinosa can be sampled under the arcades of Plaza del Ayuntamiento. The town’s culinary attractions therefore suit different kinds of visits, from trying a local pastry to browsing a market featuring products from Campoo.

Riverside Routes and Outdoor Activities

The municipality’s hiking information covers the GR99 nature trail along the Ebro and the Cantabrian trail network in Campoo-Los Valles. Check the conditions on your chosen route before setting out. At the transition between Reinosa’s urban and rural areas, there is also a restored wetland. A more diverse natural environment has developed there, with vegetation consisting predominantly of poplars.

The TriatlĂłn Blanco de Reinosa offers a different way to combine exercise and scenery. A 2026 city report describes a six-kilometer run in Reinosa, a 20-kilometer cycle from Reinosa to the Alto Campoo ski resort, and six kilometers of cross-country skiing at the resort. For future editions, check the date and course; the report alone does not establish when or in what form another edition will take place.

There are several possible focuses for your trip: historic buildings and town festivals on the one hand, and routes along the Ebro and a multisport event on the other. Choose the occasion that suits your stay, and for festivals or sporting events, plan around the dates announced for each one.
