El Tablero can be explored through different travel interests: Feria de La Zafra recalls the town’s agricultural origins and the tradition of tomato cultivation, while Parque Sur brings together physical activity and events. There is also a church built through community effort, local festival traditions and a historic building. Cultural history and activities in the park therefore offer different points of interest.

Feria de La Zafra: Agriculture and Crafts

Feria de La Zafra is a recurring ethnographic event that recalls El Tablero’s agricultural origins and tomato cultivation. Its 27th edition in 2026 included craft stalls and the sale of products from regional or local producers. The combination of agricultural heritage, crafts and regional or local products gives the Feria several clearly identifiable themes. Another feature of the edition was the theatrical walking tour “Historias de los oficios tradicionales de El Tablero.” It began at the children’s playground behind Iglesia de la Santísima Trinidad and focused on traditional occupations. If you would like to make the Feria the reason for your trip, check the dates and program for the relevant edition.

Iglesia de la Santísima Trinidad and Festival Traditions

Today’s Iglesia de la Santísima Trinidad was built through community effort; construction began in 1996 and was completed in 2000. The Fiestas Municipales de El Tablero were held in 2024 in honor of the Santísima Trinidad. The Romería Ofrenda, part of these festivities, included an offering at the church, and a Bajada de la Rama procession passed through the town. As route details may vary from one edition to another, check the relevant program if you plan to attend a future festival.

The festival traditions appeal to different interests: the Feria focuses on agricultural history and traditional occupations, while the Fiestas Municipales combine honoring the Santísima Trinidad with an offering and a procession. This can help you decide before your trip whether you are more interested in the Feria’s ethnographic character or in the specific religious festival tradition.

Casa del Mato and Its Surroundings

Casa del Mato, also known as Casa del Estanque, is a historic building in El Tablero. Both names refer to the same house. Public cultural use is planned for the Casa and its surroundings. For those choosing where to visit based on cultural interests, it complements the festival traditions with a historic building intended for public use.

Parque Sur: Activities and Events

Parque Sur is a public park at Cruce de El Tablero, between San Fernando and Sonnenland. Its named facilities include an unpaved running track, a climbing wall and outdoor fitness equipment. Concerts and other events take place in the amphitheater. This offers separate opportunities for physical activity and attending events. The events program can change, and the facilities may be subject to maintenance. Before visiting, check whether there is a temporary closure and whether the facility you are interested in is available.
