Torremolinos combines coastal paths and six beaches with hiking trails through Mediterranean woodland, historic buildings and leisure activities. These places offer different options for planning your trip: a path by the sea, an almost circular hiking route, a network of trails with viewpoints, and cultural and leisure activities.

Coastal paths and beaches

In Torremolinos, the Senda Litoral runs for just over six kilometres along the sea, connecting the city’s six beaches. The sixth stage of the Senda Litoral also passes through Torremolinos. An extension of the beach promenade makes it possible to walk along the sea by El Morro and follow a route along the Mediterranean.

El Morro is a natural monument and forms the natural boundary between La Carihuela and Bajondillo. Water sports such as jet skiing, pedal boats and jet boats are available at Playa de Los Álamos. Providers and availability may vary by season; if you are planning a specific activity, check its seasonal availability.

Hiking: marked routes and forest trails

CxM Trail A01 Torremolinos is the first centre certified by FEDME. It offers marked routes classified by difficulty. The PR-A 172 Puertos de Torremolinos is an almost circular 9.9-kilometre hiking route through the Montes de Torremolinos.

At La Cañada del Lobo, a network of trails runs through dense Mediterranean pine forest, where holm oaks, cork oaks, wild olive trees and dwarf palms grow. The trails lead to viewpoints with panoramic views over the Costa del Sol. For planning, the options offer different points of reference: the PR-A 172 has a specified route length, while La Cañada del Lobo is known for its network of trails, vegetation and viewpoints.

Buildings and history

Torre Pimentel was built around 1300 as part of the coastal defence network developed by the Nasrids. The 12-metre-high tower is made of rammed earth and has a solid base, two floors, windows and a large terrace. Its construction and height make its specific form as tangible as its historical role in coastal defence.

Casa de los Navajas was built in 1925 and belonged to the Luque-Navajas family. It hosts various exhibitions, concerts and theatre performances. The tower and the Casa offer different points of interest: one focuses on a defensive structure and its architecture, the other on the history of a house and cultural events. Check current access arrangements before visiting Casa de los Navajas.
