Mielenko can be explored through its changing landscapes of beach, forest and coastal trails. The fine, fairly wide sandy beach and the two access paths, which follow different routes, provide clear orientation. There are also Nordic walking trails and several cycling routes. You can start exploring the area at the beach or include routes through the coastal landscape in your plans.
Beach Access Between Forest and Dunes
The beach in Mielenko is covered with fine sand and is fairly wide. The main access point from Plażowa is wide, sandy, flat and convenient; it leads through a mixed forest along the dunes. For orientation on site, Plażowa is the designated main access point. This gives you a sense of both the route to the beach and the character of the shoreline.
Another beach access point leads from ul. Brzozowa through the forest and is 300 metres long. There, it intersects the red coastal hiking trail Szlak Nadmorski (E-9) and the route of the Nordic Walking Park Pomorza Środkowego. If you plan to take this route, it is worth checking the current trail conditions.
Walking and Cycling Routes
Several cycling routes run through Mielenko and are suitable for excursions. EV10/EV130, also known as Bike the Baltic, crosses the 300-metre-long access point from ul. Brzozowa. This means you can combine a beach visit at this access point with following a cycling route. The several routes that run through the area are also worth considering for a cycling excursion.
New hiking trails offer opportunities for Nordic walking and lead through the coastal forests towards Mielno and Unieście or Chłopy. These directions connect the walking routes with the coastal landscape. You can use them as a guide when planning routes through the forests.
The routes of the Nordic Walking Park Pomorza Środkowego are marked with information boards displaying maps and exercises, as well as trail signs along the way. So, in addition to the route directions, maps, exercises and signs are also useful points of reference for Nordic walking.
On foot, the focus is on routes through the coastal forests; by bike, there are several excursion routes running through Mielenko. This distinction can help you choose what to focus on: a walk towards Mielno, Unieście or Chłopy, or a cycling trip along one of the routes through the area.
A Landscape Connection
Aleja lipowa forms an ecological corridor connecting Mielenko and Mielno. This adds a landscape connection between the two places to the specific beach and walking routes. The corridor describes a different kind of connection than a single access point or excursion route: it connects Mielenko and Mielno ecologically.
