When considering Włoszczowa as a travel destination, you can choose between film, water-based leisure and local history as different areas of interest. The specific attractions and historic sites offer points of reference to help you plan your stay around your own interests.
Cinema and historic sites
Kino Muza has two auditoriums with 231 and 50 seats, digital 2K projection, and is part of the arthouse cinema network. If auditorium size or projection is important for your cinema visit, confirm the current details in advance: the equipment may change as technology is upgraded.
The market square also tells the story of the town. It was laid out in 1539, when Hieronim Szafraniec received the founding charter from King Zygmunt I Stary, granting Włoszczowa town rights. A historic statue of St. Florian also stands in the square. It was erected in the 19th century following a series of town fires.
The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the historic rectory of the WNMP parish are also part of the town's history. The church contains numerous commemorative plaques and epitaphs, including one in memory of Mikołaj Małachowski. The rectory is a 19th-century building that has been renovated from cellar to attic. It houses a museum of sacred art; visits must be arranged in advance with the caretaker, Teresa Orlikowska.
Kopiec św. Jana in Włoszczowa is a hill about five metres high, with a truncated cone shape at the top. A figure of St. John of Nepomuk stands at its summit. The mound is considered a remnant of a medieval fortified settlement, probably built in the early 15th century. At the foot of the hill, archaeologists also discovered the remains of a 16th-century bridge. The two dates therefore refer to different historical periods.
Swimming and exercise
Kryta Pływalnia Nemo offers several aquatic areas. Its leisure pool is shallow and has a waterfall and side-mounted hydromassage jets. There is also a children's paddling pool with small slides and a 79-metre tube slide. The slide is intended for adults and children aged eight and over. This gives you a way to consider the individual pools and the slide as distinct parts of a swimming-pool visit.
The facility offers swimming lessons and training for children and adults. If you would like to include these activities in your plans, confirm their current availability directly with the facility.
Trails in the wider Włoszczowa destination
The green Nordic walking route no. 1 is about 6.4 kilometres long and starts and ends at the car park behind the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Włoszczowa. Having the same start and end point identifies it as a circular route; its approximate length gives you a specific reference for planning your walk.
The cycling routes also differ in their described courses. The “Lasami dookoła Włoszczowy” cycling route, named after Bogusław Chowaniec, passes through the most interesting and scenic surroundings of Włoszczowa and runs mainly through forested areas. By contrast, the black-marked cycling route from Włoszczowa to Konieczno starts in the market square and connects with the “Lasami wokół Włoszczowy” cycling route.
The horse-riding trail has specific endpoints: it starts in Włoszczowa at the end of Wiejska Street, by a footbridge over the Czarna Struga, and ends at the forester's lodge in Wola Świdzińska. Its start and destination distinguish it from the green circular route and the cycling routes.
