Zawóz is a tourism-oriented village on a peninsula of Lake Solina, across from Wołkowyja. Its location provides a clear framework for planning your trip: the lake, trails, and brick church offer different points of interest. When looking for accommodation, you can first consider whether you would rather spend your time by the water, enjoying outdoor activities, or exploring the area’s cultural and historical attractions.
The lake, trails, and water activities
Zawóz has tourist hiking trails and tourist cycling routes. Hiking and cycling offer different ways to spend your stay. Before setting out on a specific excursion, check the route and current conditions. This lets you take your preferred type of activity into account when planning, without assuming a particular route.
Water activities are also part of planning a visit: in Zawóz, you can find rental services for kayaks, boats, sailboats, and pedal boats. Providers and equipment may vary seasonally. If you want to use a particular type of boat, ask about availability for your travel dates. That way, you can decide early whether a water activity will be a fixed part of your stay or simply an option.
The “Zielona Plaża – Zawóz” bathing area was established in 2022 at a place that had previously been used for swimming from time to time. Also in 2022, beach umbrellas were put up on the beaches in Zawóz. If a current beach visit is important to your trip, check in advance whether the area is accessible and what facilities will be available on the day of your visit.
Church and viewpoint
Zawóz has a brick church dating from 1879. It is included in the voivodeship’s heritage inventory of architectural sites; this designation is documented in municipal planning material from 2023. If you want to take architectural history into account when choosing where to visit, this is a specific cultural and historical point of interest.
There is an observation tower at the Zawóz viewpoint, with a wooden staircase and views of Solina. While the church provides a cultural and historical focus, the viewpoint draws attention to the lake. If this stop is important to your plans, check access and current conditions before visiting.
Zawóz is also home to Rancho Bieszczady, an agritourism farm with its own stable. If you are interested in horses, ask the farm directly whether participation is possible.
Plan your journey and choose accommodation
County road 2281R connects Sakowczyk and Zawóz. In August 2026, a municipal notice announced planned reconstruction work in Zawóz on the section from kilometre 2+830 to 4+530. The notice referred to planned work, not its completion. Before setting off, check whether there are any current notices about this section.
When choosing where to stay, you can weigh up the different options: trails for hiking and cycling, water activities, the church, or the viewpoint.
