In the centre of Lipowa is the first stop on the Szlak Beskidzkich Murali: the “Śliwkowa Gmina Lipowa” mural by Maciej “Kamera” Szymonowicz. It is painted on a wall of the Miejsca Aktywności Społecznej in the volunteer fire brigade building. A work with its own name, it is a specific cultural point in the centre; at the same time, it is part of a named mural trail. For culture enthusiasts, this combines a clearly located individual attraction with a themed trail.

Walking in Lipowa

A footpath runs along the Potok Leśnianka in Lipowa and is used by walkers and people exercising. A blue hiking trail leads from Lipowa to Skrzyczne, providing a clearly named mountain destination. The route is 4.4 kilometres long; the hike is estimated to take around two hours and 50 minutes. Check local conditions before setting off. There is a PTTK mountain hut on Skrzyczne, where hikers can rest and get refreshments. The path along the Potok and the marked route to the mountain therefore differ in both their course and their destination for the day.

Trails in the Dolina Zimnika

In the Lipowa municipality, hiking and cycling are possible along a route of about ten kilometres in the Dolina Zimnika. Cross-country skiing is also possible there when winter conditions are suitable. Take this seasonal limitation into account when planning.

A nature trail in the Dolina Zimnika passes through the forest managed by the Węgierska Górka Forest District. It is about 1.5 kilometres long; a walk takes around two hours. Numerous information boards on nature topics are placed along the trail. As a separate option in the valley, the nature trail differs from the longer route in its shorter distance and focus on nature topics.

The stated walking times can also be compared: the 4.4-kilometre trail to Skrzyczne is estimated to take around two hours and 50 minutes, while the 1.5-kilometre nature trail takes around two hours. So despite the significantly shorter distance, the nature trail is also planned as a visit lasting several hours. For your day plan, both the route and the approximate duration and character of each trail matter: a mountain destination on one hand, information boards on nature topics on the other.

Food and the aquapark

The tradition of making natural preserves from the Żniwka plum is maintained in the Lipowa municipality. For travellers interested in local food traditions as well, this is an additional theme alongside mural art and trails. Leśna Aquapark offers swimming pools as well as a Finnish sauna and a steam sauna. If you would like to include the aquapark in your stay, check the current opening hours before visiting.
