Korbielow combines the climb up Pilsko with marked trails towards Hala Miziowa. Other highlights include a revered image of the Virgin Mary, the Muzeum Motóra and clear rules for ski lessons. When looking for hotels in Korbielow, it helps to decide first what you want to focus on during your stay: hiking, skiing or cultural attractions. The advance checks also differ in practical terms: for the mountain ascent, allow for approximate times; for the Redyk, check the event date; and for ski lessons, check availability.

Hiking at Pilsko and towards Hala Miziowa

Pilsko is a specific destination for mountain hikes: Korbielow lies at the foot of the mountain, and the shortest and least demanding route to the top starts there. From the town centre, a yellow and a green trail also lead over Czarny Groń and onwards towards Hala Miziowa. This gives you two useful reference points for planning: the summit of Pilsko and the trails towards Hala Miziowa. You can first decide which destination matters most for your hike.

Allow about 3 hours and 30 minutes in total for the ascent from Korbielow to Pilsko; it takes around 2 hours and 30 minutes to reach Hala Miziowa, followed by a further 45 minutes or so to the summit. All times are approximate; conditions and your personal pace affect the actual duration. Allow some leeway, as conditions and your personal pace affect the actual duration.

The image of the Virgin Mary and motorcycle history

The image of the Virgin Mary, known as Matka Boża Korbielowska, came to Korbielow from Jarosław in 1974. Since 2 August 1974, it has been housed in the parish cared for by the Dominicans. The local highland community venerates it and calls it Panią Korbielowską.

The Muzeum Motóra offers a different cultural highlight. On 2 October 2016, it opened its first permanent exhibition of motorcycles and other exhibits. Motorcycle history complements the religious association of the image of the Virgin Mary with a different cultural theme.

Ski lessons with clear rules

Clear rules apply to lessons at the ski area: children, young people and beginners may be taught by specially trained instructors holding valid PZN and/or UKFIS qualifications. Individual or group lessons offered by other people and ski schools are not permitted there. If you would like to include ski lessons in your trip, check availability for your preferred date with the ski area in advance.

Spring Redyk and cheese offerings

The Redyk takes place regularly in spring and reflects the traditional custom of bringing sheep together into a single flock. If you would like to include the event in your stay, check the specific dates before your trip.

Cheese is sold at the car park on the border in Korbielow; in a nearby Bacówka, cheese is smoked using traditional methods. If you would like to include these cheese offerings in your plans, check before your trip whether they are available.
