Industrial history is a defining theme in Siemianowitz. Park Tradycji opened in 2012 on the site of the former “Michał” mine, in the former engine house of the “Krystyn” shaft. Through interactive presentations, visitors learn about the history of mining and Siemianowice Śląskie. The site thus focuses on the city’s industrial heritage and history.

Industrial Heritage and Historic Buildings

The city’s architectural history also has its own highlights. Willa Fitznera is a restored historic villa belonging to the well-known industrialist Wilhelm Fitzner. Zameczek was once the palace of the von Rheinbaben family. The two buildings point to different historical chapters in Siemianowitz: the villa associated with Wilhelm Fitzner and the former family palace.

Culture is also part of what Zameczek offers today. Concerts and events take place in a hall with 120 seats, and workshops are also offered for children, young people and adults. The city’s cultural offerings therefore take different forms: Park Tradycji presents history through interactive presentations, while Zameczek hosts concerts, events and workshops.

Parks and Their History

Park “Górnik” was once a palace park and served as the setting for the former owners of Michałkowice and their “Zameczek.” The pond is also part of the park’s history: it was revitalised in 2006. The park thus combines its former role as a palace landscape with a specific change to its grounds.

Cycling and Sports

Golf enthusiasts will find the Śląski Klub Golfowy in Siemianowice Śląskie, located in the heart of the Silesian Agglomeration. Its course is designed as a year-round championship course: it has 18 holes and a par of 72. This gives the golf offering a clearly defined sporting focus.

There are more than 40 kilometres of cycle paths in Siemianowice Śląskie. The total length may change as the infrastructure develops. The city also has two pump tracks; individual facilities may be modernised or relocated. Cycle paths and pump tracks thus offer different ways to enjoy cycling.

The “Pszczelnik” sports complex is located in Pszczelnik Park, near the centre of Siemianowice Śląskie. The “Park Pszczelnik” ice rink is open during the winter season. As opening days and hours should be checked again before travelling, it is particularly helpful to consult the latest information when planning a visit to the rink.
