Stolpmünde (Ustka) lies at the mouth of the Słupia River, where it flows into the Baltic Sea. This means the coast and water are part of the destination, alongside a layered local history: the eastern beach is on the promenade and has tourist facilities, while historic traces range from the medieval street layout to mementos from a decommissioned shipyard. There are also cycling and walking routes, as well as activities at the harbor. If you are looking for hotels, you can first consider which of these aspects you want to shape your stay—beach, local history, or outdoor activities.

History in the Town Layout and Collections

The Muzeum Ziemi Usteckiej displays exhibits and photographs from around the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, postwar documents, and mementos from the decommissioned Stocznia „Ustka“. The collection offers different perspectives across time: views from around 1900 are followed by postwar documents and memories of the shipyard.

The historic old town preserves the street layout of a medieval village, which is protected as a historic monument for its heritage value. Stara Osada Rybacka offers a different perspective: a small number of houses have been preserved there, once belonging to Ustka’s most prominent residents—ship captains. Together, these sites complement the museum collection with traces preserved in the townscape.

Individual buildings also tell different aspects of the town’s history. The Kościół p.w. Najświętszego Zbawiciela was built between 1885 and 1888 and contains organs made by the Voelkner manufactory. The Ustka lighthouse is octagonal and decorated with numerous cornices. The Bunkry Blüchera complex includes the Park Spotkań z Historią, a multimedia gallery about the daily lives of the soldiers stationed in the bunkers. Architecture, collections, and depictions of soldiers’ everyday lives thus offer different perspectives side by side.

Cycling Route, Coastal Trail, and Baltic Sea Excursion

The long-distance R-10 cycle route, the Nadmorski Szlak Hanzeatycki, passes through Ustka. One option for exploring on foot is the Szlak Uroczysko, which runs through the coastal landscape west of Ustka, between the beach and residential areas. The routes therefore differ both in how you travel and in their described locations. You can plan according to whether a cycling route or a walking trail better suits your stay.

The swing pedestrian bridge connects the opposite banks of the Słupia and is considered a tourist attraction. At the harbor, ships resembling pirate ships offer excursions on the Baltic Sea. Together, the bridge over the river and trips out to sea provide different ways to experience the water in the town. If you plan to take a boat trip, check the departure times in advance.

Beach, Fish Market, and Tężnia

The eastern beach is on the promenade and has tourist facilities. This provides a clear point of reference for a stay focused on the beach; the routes and historic sites offer other themes for planning your day. Local fishermen sell fresh fish at Targ Rybny. They catch fish using their fishing boats. The Tężnia is located in Park Usteckich Stoczniowców and adds a wellness-related option to the town’s offerings.

Arrival and Finding a Hotel

Ustka railway station is a short distance from the town center and harbor. This is a useful point of reference when planning your arrival. Use the themes you want to experience in Stolpmünde to guide your search.
