Construction of the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Pierwoszyno began in 1984 and took ten years. Pierwoszyno combines this historical connection with cultural offerings and a landscape featuring coastal and woodland scenery. This gives your stay a range of possible focuses: architecture and culture in the village, as well as walking and cycling opportunities nearby.

Church and Culture in Pierwoszyno

The church’s 30-metre-high bell tower is visible to sailors and fishermen out at sea. This distinctive feature connects the church building to the coast in a tangible way. Together with the ten-year construction period, it offers two different perspectives on the church: its architectural design and its history since construction began in 1984.

The Gminny Dom Kultury hosts a variety of cultural and entertainment events, as well as courses for all age groups. The programme therefore extends beyond individual events to include courses as well. If you want to plan around a specific date, check the latest announcements: no event calendar is provided here.

The Kosakowskie Centrum Kultury is located at ul. Kaszubska 11 in Pierwoszyno. The address provides a specific landmark to help you find your way around the village. However, the address alone says nothing about opening hours or general visiting arrangements; plan a specific visit according to the centre’s own information.

Coastal Landscapes and Natural Features

Pierwoszyno’s coastline features coastal and woodland landscapes. A walk nearby takes you to two beech trees called Wielkie Stopy, standing beside a path leading into the forest. This lets you combine a named natural landmark with a short walk. Trail conditions and access can change, so check the conditions before your visit.

Other distinctive trees in the surrounding area have also been documented. A local authority post from 2020 names the trees at the intersection of ul. Orzechowa and ul. Renklodowa Zakochane Drzewa and describes them as entwined like a couple in love. Another post from 2020 describes the chestnut tree Kasztanowiec Moniki at the end of ul. Orzechowa as 25 years old. These are two different points of interest: the description of Zakochane Drzewa focuses on their shape, while the chestnut tree’s description gives its age at the time. Since these descriptions date from 2020, check the current situation before making a special detour.

Getting Around by Bike and Bus

Cycling route R-2 runs through the forest in the area between Pierwoszyno and Mechelinki, near ul. Truskawkowa; the path there is 3.5 metres wide. The route is listed in municipal maintenance information for winter 2025/2026. This applies to that period and does not describe conditions throughout the year. Check the current condition of the path before your ride.

Regular bus line 165, operated by Zarząd Komunikacji Miejskiej w Gdyni, is listed in the direction of Rewa – Bursztynowa, with the stops Pierwoszyno – Staw 02 and Pierwoszyno – Kościół 02. For departure times and current services, contact the operator; the stop information does not indicate service frequency.

When planning an outing in nature, the options mainly differ in how you get around: the walk leads to the named beech trees beside a path into the forest, while R-2 is a cycling route between Pierwoszyno and Mechelinki. You can choose based on whether you want to travel on foot or by bike, and check the latest conditions in advance.
