Jantar offers several different reasons to visit, which can be grouped by theme, season and route type: world championships in amber fishing, a summer fishing opportunity, cycling routes, an animal farm and a seasonal seaside bathing area. To decide whether the town is right for your trip, it is best to choose your main focus first. Would you like an event date to shape your visit, do you want to ride a circular route, or are the animal and beach attractions your priority? This distinction helps you plan your time around specific activities and assess Jantar as a possible destination for your stay.

Event and Summer Fishing

The World Championships in amber fishing have been held in Jantar since 1999. If this competition is the deciding factor for your trip, check the date for your intended travel year. A carp pond in Jantar offers pole and bottom fishing in summer. The two activities differ in timing: for the competition, the event date is decisive; for fishing, the summer season matters. This can help you decide whether to plan your trip around a specific date or a seasonal activity.

Cycling Routes: Circular Route and Route Section

The Pętla Szkolna runs from Jantar via Izbiska and back to Jantar. Another cycling route section, laid out by Stegna Municipality, is 14.82 km long. It begins in Mikoszewo, runs via Jantar, Jantar Leśniczówka, Junoszyno and Stegna to the boundary between the municipalities of Stegna and Sztutowo near the Stutthof Museum; the route then continues towards Sztutowo. The route type is a practical difference when choosing: the loop returns to its starting point, while the section follows a sequence of named places and continues towards Sztutowo. The starting points also differ: the loop begins in Jantar, while the 14.82 km section begins in Mikoszewo and also passes through Jantar. This lets you choose between a circular route returning to Jantar and a route section that passes through the town along the way.

Mini ZOO Farma Jantar and the Beach

Mini ZOO Farma Jantar is located in Jantar on the Vistula Spit. The landscaped area covers 9 hectares and is home to around 30 animal species from various regions of the world. Examples include capybaras, ring-tailed lemurs, kangaroos, zebras and camels. The attractions also include animal-feeding demonstrations and educational workshops. If you would like to consider demonstrations or learning activities as well as the animal species, the Farma offers both aspects of a visit.

A 200 m Ă— 50 m seaside bathing area is located at beach access No. 79. Bathing is seasonal. If swimming is part of your plans, take the season into account and check the dates that apply to your stay in advance.
