Warcz combines a strongly undulating rural setting with medieval local history and a specific connection to horses. These offer different focal points when planning your trip: you can focus on the landscape, historical sites or a horse-related stay. The most specific accommodation option is at a horse boarding facility, which offers guest rooms for horse owners.

Landscape and foraging

Warcz is located in the municipality of Trąbki Wielkie, in the Pomeranian Voivodeship and Gdańsk County. The landscape includes fields, meadows and forests. The forests and open countryside abound in game, mushrooms, berries and raspberries, attracting many people who gather forest produce, mainly from the Pruszcz Gdański area. The rural character of the place is thus shaped both by its terrain and open spaces and by the gathering of forest produce. If you are weighing landscape against local history when choosing your destination, alongside its historical themes, Warcz also has a distinctive rural character.

Medieval history and remembrance

In 1350, the Teutonic Order founded a manor called Warczke. On 11 November 1380, Danzig Commander Zygfryd Walpot von Bassenheim transferred the estates of Warcz to Herman Trankot for settlement under Kulm law. These were two distinct events: the first concerned the founding of a manor, while the second involved transferring estates for settlement. Another historical landmark is the military cemetery in Warcz, where 530 Soviet soldiers are buried. The cemetery offers a different historical perspective from the medieval events and adds the theme of remembrance to the local history.

Horses and accommodation

The horse boarding facility in Warcz has 20 spacious stalls, a wash bay, veterinary care and farrier services, as well as guest rooms for horse owners. Its 4 hectares include paddocks, a sand riding arena, a grass riding arena, a lunging hall and riding trails. The guest rooms are specifically intended for horse owners; if this connection is important to your stay, check availability in advance. Another horse-related venue is the Canter riding school at Warcz 9a. There are therefore two distinct options: guest rooms at the horse boarding facility and a riding school. Before visiting, also check with Canter about current availability. The 20 stalls refer to horse accommodation; the four hectares refer to the area with the facilities listed above.

Cycling route through Warcz

A marked green cycling route, 73.52 km long, passes through Warcz. This clearly specified route adds a cycling option to the area's historical and horse-related attractions. The route length is a useful planning reference; check the latest route information before setting out, as details and markings may change.
