Czarna Dąbrówka offers a clear focus on local history and trails for planning a trip. In the village itself, a former Protestant church and a manor house provide two different historical points of interest. PTTK hiking trails with different connections to the village also end here or pass through it. In the surrounding municipality, there is also a nature trail in Rokity and a kayak launch in Łupawsko. When looking for holiday accommodation, it is therefore worth distinguishing between exploring the village and taking additional trips within the municipality.

Church and manor house: two historical themes

The former Protestant church was built in 1935–1936. It was consecrated on 6 January 1947, after which it was used as a branch church of the parish of Kozin. The construction period, consecration and subsequent religious function mark different historical periods and give the village’s history a clear chronology. The manor house at 31 Bytowska Street is another architectural feature: the brick building is designed in the Eclectic style and is listed in heritage registers. Together, the two buildings represent different aspects of Czarna Dąbrówka’s history—the religious function of a former Protestant church and the Eclectic design of a manor house.

Hiking trails with different connections to the village

The 67 km-long PTTK “Dolina Łupawy” hiking trail ends in Czarna Dąbrówka, while the PTTK “Krajobrazów młodoglacjalnych” trail passes through the village. Thus, Czarna Dąbrówka is the endpoint of one trail and part of the route of the other—a concrete distinction when comparing the routes by how they relate to the village. Check the local trail markings for both routes before setting out. A walking and cycling path also runs by the grounds of the health centre in Czarna Dąbrówka.

Nature trail and kayaking destinations in the municipality

For nature-related activities, head to Rokity in the municipality. There you will find the “Przyjaciel lasu” nature and recreation trail in the forests managed by the Cewice Forest District. The trail includes two forest lakes and three routes measuring 1,000 m, 1,200 m and approximately 1,700 m. The longest is therefore about 700 m longer than the shortest. Information boards cover nesting boxes, aquatic ecosystems and the role of water in the forest, as well as the forest life cycle and its layered structure. Other topics include small mammals, forest fruits, protected plants, waste decomposition and birds’ daily lives. Educational games teach visitors to identify trees, birds and mushrooms.

Another excursion within the municipality takes you to Łupawsko on Lake Jasień. A 2022 report by the regional tourism organisation mentions a kayak launch there with a floating jetty and a slipway for launching kayaks. Kayak trips on the Łupawa usually start at the kayak launch in Łupawsko, on the lake’s left bank. Only experienced kayakers are recommended for the section of the Łupawa between Kozin and Damno Młyn; Kozin is near Czarna Dąbrówka. Check current local water conditions before paddling.
