Mościska can be explored through two distinct highlights: a designated sightseeing route with a historic memorial site, and leisure activities for play and exercise. The route covers three stops over 3.1 km and has an audio guide in Polish. When choosing a holiday apartment, it is therefore helpful to start by considering what you want from your visit: are you primarily interested in the village’s history, or would you also like to include opportunities for play and exercise in your plans?

Getting your bearings in Mościska

Mościska is the easternmost village in the Izabelin municipality and borders Warsaw (the Bielany district and Wólka Węglowa), Klaudyn and Laski. These neighbouring areas help situate it within the municipality. The sightseeing route and leisure activities are separate points of reference for your stay, relating to specific stops and activities in the village.

Sightseeing route and memorial sites

The sightseeing route through Mościska is 3.1 km long and has three stops; an audio guide is available in Polish. The route length and number of stops give you concrete details to help plan your visit. The language of the guide is also relevant: if you would like to use the audio guide, bear in mind that it is in Polish.

One of the stops is the historic obelisk “Kamień historyczny, obelisk na Opaleniu”. It commemorates members of the underground resistance of the VIII Rejon of the Armia Krajowa who fell on 28 January 1944 while fighting over a weapons cache that had been discovered. This gives the route a clearly defined historical focus. At the end of the village there is also the farewell cross, “Krzyż pożegnalny na zakończenie wsi”. The obelisk is a stop on the route; the cross is another landmark at the village’s edge.

Play and exercise

On the Sołtysówka grounds, at the bend in ul. 3-go Maja towards Laski, near house number 88, there is a public municipal playground. The grounds have tables for table tennis and board games. There is also a volleyball court, a football pitch and table tennis tables. This location brings together a variety of games and field sports.

On ul. 3 Maja there is an outdoor fitness trail, a recreational football pitch and a recreational volleyball court. The trail adds another way to exercise outdoors to the listed table games and field sports. When planning your visit, you can weigh up the different options according to whether you are more interested in play, table tennis, a field sport or exercise on the trail.

Plan your stay around your interests

When looking for a holiday apartment, it may help to first decide what you want to do during your visit. If you are mainly interested in the historical connections, the obelisk as a stop on the route and the Polish audio guide are important details. If you would rather focus on outdoor leisure, you can consider the activities at the Sołtysówka grounds and on ul. 3 Maja.
