A black-marked trail leads south from the Sękocin-Las bus station along the road. As described, it continues into a forest with holiday homes scattered throughout the Magdalenka settlement. Points along the route include the church in Magdalenka (2.6 km), the national memorial site in Magdalenka (4.0 km), and Magdalenka (5.5 km). This route description therefore provides both the landscape and specific place names to help you find your way.

Routes in the surrounding area

The Sękociński Trail is described as an easy walk for all seasons through pine forests and the summer-home development of Magdalenka. While the black-marked trail highlights individual places and distances, the focus here is on the forest and settlement scenery. Before setting out, check the route and trail conditions so your plans suit the conditions on the ground.

Forest education in Sękocin Stary

The Forest Education Centre of the Instytut Badawczy Leśnictwa in Sękocin Stary organizes classes for school-age children and young people; the program covers more than 15 topics. The centre also offers various educational trails. When planning, you can therefore choose between the classes and trails, which cover different topics and use different formats.

The “Szlak Leśnych Gigantów” educational trail features XXL models of mammals, birds, insects and fungi, as well as plant models and interactive elements. “Na sosnowym szlaku” is an interactive educational trail; “Ruch w Świecie Zwierząt” combines recreation and education. “Pogromcy Leśnych Mitów” is a virtual educational trail. The offerings differ not only in subject matter, but also in how they convey knowledge about the forest.

Another educational trail on the institute grounds features a plant collection of around 600 species and varieties. This adds a distinct plant-focused element to the animal models. The centre also has an orangery and a campfire area.
