Rozalin is a village on the northern edge of the Las Młochowski forest, about 6 km southwest of Nadarzyn. Its palace history, historic park and yellow-marked hiking trail offer different perspectives on the area. When planning your trip, you can first decide whether to focus on architecture, landscape or a particular hike. The direction of Nadarzyn helps locate Rozalin, while the forest edge describes its relationship with the landscape.
Palace History and Park
Pałac w Rozalinie was built in 1857 to a design by Henryk Marconi. That same year, Aleksandra Teofilia z Lubomirskich Rzewuska had a summer residence built in Rozalin, now called Pałac w Rozalinie. It was set among ponds, extensive meadows and a historic park. Marconi was responsible for the design, while Rzewuska commissioned the building and originally used it as a summer residence; the shared year places both in the same phase of its history.
The historic park of the palace and park complex covers more than 24 hectares and includes ponds; its particularly valuable features also include linden avenues. Its size, bodies of water and avenues create a landscape focus in their own right, alongside the architecture. To explore the area’s history, you can consider the building and park separately without losing sight of the summer residence’s historic setting.
The park is privately owned; Pałac w Rozalinie is also privately owned and rented out for receptions, meetings and events. If you are planning a visit or a specific occasion, check the access and event arrangements in advance.
Walking in Rozalin
A yellow-marked hiking trail leads from Rozalin (Pałacowa ZTM) to Gajówka Krakowiany. The route therefore has a named starting point and a specific destination, making it easy to identify when planning. Together with the village’s location on the northern edge of the forest, this gives you two different ways to orient yourself: Rozalin’s setting in the landscape and the course of a particular hike. If you want to explore the area on foot, you can use this information as a starting point for planning your own route.
Food and Activities
Restauracja Oficyna is located in a former wing of the palace. It welcomes guests on weekends for a family meal, a celebration of everyday life or a special occasion. It serves its own cuisine, featuring many traditional Polish flavors, seasonal produce and some inspiration from cuisines around the world. This makes food culture another part of a stay, alongside the architecture and park. If you want to dine there for particular dishes or seasonal ingredients, check the current selection, as the menu may change.
Art workshops were held at Restauracja Oficyna on Sundays from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. If you are planning to take part, ask in advance whether they are currently available on the day of your visit.
