Kozienice Leisure and Sports Park has two water playgrounds: one for younger children and one for older children. There is also an inclusive playground adapted for children with disabilities. The park’s woodland area features wooden boardwalks, benches, loungers and water features amid greenery and tall pines. Play facilities and a wooded park area are thus presented as distinct aspects of the same place.

Water, Play and Parkland

At Lake Kozienickie, you’ll find a supervised bathing area, a beach along the shore and a watersports equipment rental facility. This provides a separate option for swimming and watersports alongside the water playgrounds in the Leisure and Sports Park. Facilities and seasonal operations may change; check current operating information before travelling.

The historic park of the Kozienice Palace and Park Complex retains its flanking hornbeam avenues. They enclose a clearing on the complex’s central axis. Those interested in the design of historic parkland will find this a specific complement to the leisure areas: one offers play and recreation, while the other displays the historic park’s preserved layout.

Nature Trails and Nature Themes

The educational trail in Królewski Park is considered the first publicly accessible nature trail in Kozienice. A municipal description from 2026 specifically mentions areas prepared for educational workshops, themed gatherings and outdoor events. At the broader Kozienice destination level, the trail “Edukacja środowiskowa – ścieżka edukacyjna w Parku Królewskim” introduces local flora, fauna and fungi through examples from the park. Its facilities include picnic tables, benches, information boards and educational games; wooden boardwalks provide opportunities to observe features and organisms in aquatic habitats.

Another educational trail in the broader Kozienice destination is “Królewskie Źródła,” with twelve themed stations. It includes a picnic clearing with an educational shelter, benches, tables, a designated fire pit and information boards. The two trails have different focuses: the trail in Królewski Park presents nature themes through examples from the park, while “Królewskie Źródła” combines its stations with an equipped rest area.

Kozienice’s Cultural Heritage

The Kozienice Palace and Park Complex includes a group of buildings on the site of an 18th-century complex, the Den family cemetery, a tower and an English-style park. The surviving hornbeam avenues give the park a clearly defined layout: they flank the central clearing rather than replacing it. The history of the royal residence is also linked to Kozienice. After the First Partition of Poland, it served Stanisław August Poniatowski as a retreat and hunting residence.

The column in Kozienice commemorating Zygmunt I the Old marks the birthplace of the future Polish king. It was erected in 1518 and is considered Poland’s oldest secular monument. The Regional Museum named after Prof. Tomasz Mikocki is located in part of the former complex of carriage house, stables and kitchen wing. The Jewish cemetery, known as the Kirkut, is listed as a monument under number MWKZ 403/A/89, dated 3 April 1989; the first mention of this monument dates from mid-1790.

Nature and Culture in the Broader Kozienice Destination

Kozienice County lies between the Vistula and Pilica rivers. A 7,010-hectare part of Kozienice Landscape Park lies within the county. The park encompasses varied landscapes, forest complexes, bodies of water, and natural and scenic complexes, and offers opportunities for tourism and recreation. The county also has more than 300 kilometres of hiking trails through natural and historic landscapes. Organised kayaking trips are offered on the Radomka, Pilica and Vistula rivers; operators and dates may vary.

The events calendar for the broader destination includes the annual “Dzień Puszczy Kozienickiej,” held at the KCRiS Leisure and Tourism Centre on Lake Kozienice. The “Mazowsze w Koronie” concert series is also held in historic religious buildings, including in Kozienice County. As individual events take place on specific dates, it is advisable to check the latest details before travelling.
