Bobrówko can be viewed through several clearly distinct themes: the architectural history of a palace, a preserved manor ensemble, a landscape park, an erratic boulder in a cultivated field, and a hiking route that lists the village as a stop. Its local cultural and landscape features thus range from a Mannerist altar dating to 1627 to a 29-kilometre route. Two scales are relevant to travel planning: individual buildings and local features on the one hand, and a route through several named places on the other.
Palace and Manor History
The palace was first built at the end of the 18th century as a modest manor house with a gabled roof for the von der Osten family. About a hundred years later, it was remodelled in the Neo-Renaissance style and extended with a two-storey wing featuring a mansard roof and dormer windows. The two phases therefore differ both in architectural form and in scale: the original manor house was followed by a renovation and an additional wing. The time interval is approximate; no exact year is given for the later changes.
Manor Ensemble and Landscape Park
A manor ensemble with farm buildings has also been preserved in Bobrówko. It includes an imposing 19th-century barn and servants’ houses. A palace has also been preserved, compositionally linked to a landscape park. The park borders the palace to the east and south and covers about six hectares. These are two distinct aspects: the manor ensemble includes the barn and servants’ houses as well as other farm buildings; the palace’s relationship to the park and the park’s location are also described. The approximate area helps place the park in context.
An Older Artistic Landmark
The Church of St Anthony of Padua contains a Mannerist altar dating to 1627. Its date is considerably earlier than the palace’s first construction phase at the end of the 18th century. This comparison sets out two separate historical reference points: the altar belongs to ecclesiastical art, while the palace’s history begins with the construction of the manor house and includes a renovation about a hundred years later. If you are looking at Bobrówko’s historical features, the church adds an older, precisely dated element to the later-starting history of the palace.
Erratic Boulder in a Cultivated Field
Another landscape feature is an erratic boulder in a cultivated field beside the road to Machary. It measures up to 7.9 metres long and 3.9 metres wide. Alongside the landscape park, this natural stone, with its stated maximum dimensions, offers another perspective on the village. Its location in the field is part of its description, as are its length and width.
Hiking Route Through Several Places
A municipal tourism guide from 2014 describes a yellow-marked hiking trail measuring 29 kilometres. It ran from Jezioro Ogardzka Odnoga (Spalony Most) via Pielice, Ogardy, Tuczno and Bobrówko to Danków. In this sequence, Bobrówko is a stop along a longer hiking route, not its endpoint. The stated distance refers to the entire route to Danków, not just a section in Bobrówko. The route can therefore be distinguished as a hiking option connecting several places, separate from the village’s individual architectural and landscape features.
