In Wojciechów, several attractions offer a glimpse into the art of blacksmithing: a historic tower, museums and recurring events. Elsewhere, Lublin County reveals a wide variety of landscapes and experiences – from an ancient oak grove and protected landscapes to cycling routes, fishing waters and places of remembrance. You can choose which ones shape your trip according to your interests.

Wojciechów: Blacksmithing and History

The Ariańska Tower in Wojciechów was built between 1520 and 1530. It is the only building of its kind in the Lublin region dating from the Gothic-Renaissance period. In the tower’s entrance hall, around 80 historical objects from the Skansen Wsi Głuseckiej illustrate domestic and rural life in the Lublin region in earlier times. Another collection awaits you at Młyn Hipolit: it houses a museum of minerals, fossils and meteorites with more than 5,000 exhibits.

The Museum of Blacksmithing also focuses on the craft. Its programme for organised groups includes a history lesson on Polish craftsmanship and tours of an old forge, tools, horseshoes, replicas of medieval weapons and artistic metalwork. Wojciechów also hosts national blacksmithing workshops, fairs and festivals every year. Every two years, the municipality welcomes participants in the Ogólnopolskie Spotkania Kowali. Check the dates of the respective events before planning your trip.

Nature, Landscape and Routes

The Chmiel Nature Reserve in the municipality of Jabłonna protects a two-hundred-year-old oak grove. The landscape is ideal for walks and cycling trips. The Kozi Bór Protected Landscape Area in the municipality of Garbów offers a different natural setting: it includes the Rejowiec and Duży Ług bodies of water, as well as habitats for rare plants and animals. The boundary between the Bełżyce Plain and the Urzędów Hills runs through the municipality of Niedrzwica Duża, resulting in varied terrain.

Several cycling routes offer different ways to explore the area. The approximately 30 km Doliną Nędznicy route follows the Nędznica River and passes landscape features, flora and fauna, as well as numerous historic sites. An approximately 37 km cycling route runs through the municipality of Głusk and connects to the Lublin Cycling Route; there are also several hiking trails in the area. The municipality of Jastków has two cycling routes.

In Łysaków, in the municipality of Wólka, a ten-metre-high observation tower with a telescope stands on a steep slope above the Bystrzyca Valley. Those interested in bodies of water will find the Zalew Bychawski reservoir and numerous fishing waters in the municipality of Bychawa. The Radawiec model airfield offers another attraction: the Aeroklub Lubelski operates a model aircraft section there, in the municipality of Konopnica.

Cultural Heritage and Local Discoveries

The war cemetery in Jastków commemorates the soldiers of the 4th Infantry Regiment of the Legions who fell in the Battle of Jastków in 1915. Motycz railway station, in the municipality of Konopnica, is also a registered monument: it is listed in the state register of monuments.

The Jabłonna palace and park complex is located in the municipality of Jabłonna. The Dyssov craft distillery in the municipality of Niemce offers a different way to get to know a place. It produces spirits and beer-based spirits, and offers tours of the historic mill. The availability of individual products may change.
