Kąty Wrocławskie combines a preserved historic town layout with several cycling routes. Visitors planning a stay can pair its architecture and the Regional Memory Chamber with tours on two wheels. The two marked circular routes differ in length, approximate duration and stated level of difficulty.

Town Layout and Architecture

The late Gothic parish church of St Peter and Paul shapes the skyline of Kąty Wrocławskie. It dates from the 15th century; its features include a polygonal-ended chancel and an octagonal tower. The town hall also has its own architectural character, with Neo-Romanesque forms.

The rectangular market square is another clear landmark in the townscape. Eight streets lead off it. The original regular urban layout within the former walls and moat has been preserved in the street pattern, as well as in green spaces and green corridors. The historic structure can therefore be appreciated not only through individual buildings, but also through the arrangement of streets and open spaces.

History and Visit Planning

The Regional Memory Chamber holds documents, photographs, archaeological finds, books and other items relating to the town and municipality of Kąty Wrocławskie. It is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 08:00 to 16:00, Thursdays from 12:00 to 18:00, and Saturdays from 10:00 to 16:00. If you plan to include the collection in your day, check the opening hours again before your visit.

In collaboration with the municipality of Kąty Wrocławskie, Footsteps has created two special routes, including the sightseeing route “Zabytki Kątów Wrocławskich”. If you would like to use the route digitally, check whether the app is currently available.

Cycling Routes by Length and Difficulty

The blue-marked Szlak Bobra runs from Kąty Wrocławskie through Jurczyce, Romnów, Małkowice, Sadowice, Sadkówek and Sośnica, before returning to town. It is 16 kilometres long and takes about two hours. It is described as easy and suitable for cycling with children.

The green-marked Szlak Bielika also starts in Kąty Wrocławskie and runs through Sośnica, Krobielowice, Zachowice, Czerńczyce and Kamionna before returning. At 23 kilometres and about three hours, it is longer; it is described as more demanding.

The length and duration of the two circular routes provide a practical basis for choosing between them: the Szlak Bobra is the shorter option, while about an hour more should be allowed for the Szlak Bielika. The stated difficulty also differs. You can therefore weigh up the time available and the level of difficulty together, rather than deciding on distance alone.

More Cycling Routes and Scenery

EuroVelo 9, the “Amber Route”, passes through Kąty Wrocławskie. A green cycling route connects the town with Leśnica in Wrocław, Mrozów, Środa Śląska, Lubiąż and Wołów. The R9 cycle route runs from Kąty Wrocławskie through Małkowice to Wrocław Muchobór Wielki.

Another cycling route starts in Kąty Wrocławskie, loops around a reservoir through scenic areas of the Bystrzyca Valley and is 74 kilometres long.

The Bystrzyca Valley Landscape Park also includes Kąty Wrocławskie. The town therefore brings together urban history and a connection to the regional landscape, while the routes mentioned offer different options for a cycling trip.
