Jastrzębia combines an 18th-century manor house with a historically rural village layout. The house was rebuilt in the 20th century; at the same time, the 15-kilometre “Jastrząb” cycling and walking route passes through the village and several others. If you are looking for holiday accommodation for a short break focused on culture and landscape, two distinct points of interest meet here: the village’s architectural history and a route connecting Jastrzębia with other settlements.

The manor house and its details

The manor house is a two-storey Baroque masonry building on a rectangular plan. It has a cellar and a hipped roof with eyebrow dormers. An acanthus frieze runs along the façade. The entrance is framed by two pilasters and a broken-segmental pediment; a cartouche sits above the door. Pilasters are flat, column-like features on a wall. A broken pediment has an interrupted outline. This makes it possible to distinguish the building’s overall form from its façade decoration: the plan and roof define its architectural form, while the frieze and entrance design provide decorative accents.

The historic manor house dates from the 18th century and was rebuilt in the 20th century. These details refer to two different building phases: the house’s construction and its later rebuilding.

Village layout and park remnant

Jastrzębia has a historic, rural village layout. Two courtyards lay around the residence, lined with residential and agricultural buildings. The character of the village can therefore be described not only by the manor house itself but also by this arrangement of courtyards. A small wooded area west of the manor house survives as a remnant of a neglected park and garden.

Two scales come together when considering the village: the specific architecture of a house and the rural arrangement of its courtyards. The wooded remnant west of the house adds the former park and garden area to this architectural perspective.

A harvest wreath competition in 2025

A contemporary cultural connection comes from the municipal harvest festival in 2025. The Jastrzębia village council took part in the competition for the most beautiful harvest wreath and won first place. The judging considered craftsmanship, appearance and the artistic qualities of the wreath design. This differs from the manor house as historic building fabric: here, the focus is on a clearly dated competition and the design of the wreath.

Cycling and walking route through several villages

The “Jastrząb” tourist cycling and walking route is 15 km long. It starts in Góra and runs through Stara Góra, Rogów Górowski, Osetno, Gola Górowska and Jastrzębia. This sequence of places situates Jastrzębia within a route spanning several villages; the distance describes the entire route, not just the section in the village.

An existing cycle path runs from Góra via ul. Paderewskiego towards Jastrzębia. Check the current completion and route conditions before setting out.
