Murzasichle borders Tatra National Park to the east and south. A hiking route starts in the village at the park boundary, while MURZASICHLE SKI brings together a range of winter activities. The Church of Our Lady, Queen of the World (Najświętszej Marii Panny – Królowej Świata) also makes a distinctive impression: its construction and design are closely connected with Murzasichle. The village thus offers a variety of reasons to visit, from outdoor activities to taking in its architecture.

Hiking at the Park Boundary

A municipal hiking route leads from Murzasichle, at the boundary of Tatra National Park, to Psia Trawka. This named destination gives the walk a clear direction; check local route conditions before setting out.

Separate from this is a municipal project that envisaged a total of 5.85 km of pedestrian and cycle paths in three sections in Poronin and Murzasichle. One section was to start in Murzasichle on ul. Sądelska near No. 127B and run toward Zakopane as far as ul. Oswalda Balzera. This is a project plan; by contrast, the route to Psia Trawka is described as a hiking route. When planning, it is helpful to distinguish between these two pieces of information: a plan for pedestrian and cycle paths, and a specifically named hiking connection.

Winter Activities with Different Highlights

The MURZASICHLE SKI winter complex has six drag lifts serving slopes that are between 180 and 350 m long and range in difficulty. The complex has artificial snowmaking and is lit in the evenings. This means there are several slope lengths and difficulty levels to choose from; lighting and snowmaking are also among the facility’s stated features.

Another activity there is snow tubing: the track is about 200 m long and runs through a specially prepared snow channel. The activity is suitable for children and adults. Compared with the slopes, this is a clearly distinct form of winter fun: it involves a single tubing track rather than downhill runs of varying difficulty. Both activities are seasonal, and conditions may vary from one season to another.

Church Architecture and Building History

The Church of Our Lady, Queen of the World (Najświętszej Marii Panny – Królowej Świata) in Murzasichle was built between 1954 and 1957. It was designed by architect Józef Łukaszczyk “Tady” from Murzasichle. Its connection to the village is reflected both in the building itself and in the architect’s origins.

Architecturally, the church is a three-aisled, three-bay pseudo-basilica. These technical terms give a specific picture of its layout: “three-aisled” means it has three aisles, and “three-bay” means it has three bays. Together with the construction dates, this description makes the church a special destination for travelers interested in architectural forms and the village’s more recent building history.

Plan Your Stay Around Your Interests

The activities described make it easy to choose a focus for your trip: the hiking route leads to Psia Trawka, MURZASICHLE SKI offers slopes and snow tubing, and the church combines a dated building history with an architect from Murzasichle. Seasonal activities are a key consideration for a winter stay; those interested in hiking or architecture will find different local attractions to focus on.
