Jamna’s highest point offers views across the Rożnów-Ciężkowice Foothills and the Beskid Sądecki, all the way to the Tatra panorama. There are also hiking trails leading in different directions, the “Wielka Pętla Południowa” cycling route, and cultural landmarks at the church and the memorial room for Father Jan Góra. For planning purposes, you can distinguish between the landscape, hiking destinations, a route through several places, and a visit arranged in advance by contacting the relevant person.

Hiking trails and their destinations

The red hiking trail leads from the mountain hut past the church in Jamna, across the plateau to Siekierczyna, where it turns onto a forest path. Check the current trail markings before setting out.

The yellow hiking trail leads west to the PKS bus stop in Jamna and continues from there towards Jezioro Rożnowskie. This gives you a choice of different directions and destinations: the route across the plateau and through Siekierczyna, or the western trail to the bus stop and onward to the lake.

A loop from Jamna via Siekierczyna and Bukowiec, and through the Paleśnianka valley back to Jamna, was planned for the blue hiking trail. Because permission to mark the trail on private property was not granted, only the first part of the plan was implemented. The planned loop in its entirety should therefore be distinguished from the section that was actually completed; do not treat the plan as a fully implemented circular route.

For choosing a direction, the red trail’s route across the plateau and through Siekierczyna, and the yellow trail’s western route to the PKS stop and onward towards the lake, are the main options. Unlike these hiking trails, the cycling route passes through a sequence of several places before returning to Zakliczyn; the blue trail, meanwhile, was only partially implemented as a loop.

Church and memorial room

The church in Jamna is dedicated to Our Lady of Jamna – Mother of Infallible Hope. This full dedication provides a specific religious point of reference; anyone interested in church culture can bear the name in mind when learning about Jamna.

The memorial room for Father Jan Góra is located in the House of Saint Hyacinth. It displays his authentic furniture, everyday objects, books, pictures, clothing and other mementos. Visits are by request: contact one of the Dominicans living in Jamna to arrange one.

Jamna on the cycling route

The “Wielka Pętla Południowa” cycling route passes through Zakliczyn, Zdonia, Słona, Olszowa, Jamna, Paleśnica, Dzierżaniny, Borowa, Ruda Kameralna, Filipowice, Stróże and Wesołów before returning to Zakliczyn. This sequence places Jamna on a route through several places, rather than making it the route’s endpoint.

In this sequence, Jamna lies between Olszowa and Paleśnica; Zakliczyn is both the starting point and the endpoint. This lets you distinguish Jamna’s place along the route from the two points where the route begins and returns. Check the local signage before setting out.
