The festival dates in Dębołęka offer a glimpse of three different programmes: the anniversary of the OSP Dębołęka–Rudzk Duży Volunteer Fire Brigade, the 8th Family Festival at the primary school’s sports field, and a family picnic. The events took place on specific dates in 2014, 2024 and 2025. Comparing their programmes makes local festival culture tangible: one event focused on fire brigade history and official proceedings, another featured several hours of student performances alongside food and stalls, and a later event included a concert at a picnic.

Volunteer Fire Brigade Anniversary

On 1 June 2024, the OSP Dębołęka–Rudzk Duży Volunteer Fire Brigade celebrated 90 years of the fire brigade in Dębołęka and the 40th anniversary of its unit. The official programme included speeches, a Mass and awards; artistic performances were also on the schedule. To conclude, the participants shared a meal at the fire station. The celebration thus brought together official proceedings and artistic performances, followed by a meal shared by the participants. The two anniversary figures refer to different things: the fire brigade in Dębołęka and its unit.

Family Festival at the Sports Field

On 29 June 2014, the 8th Family Festival was held at the sports field of the primary school in Dębołęka. Students performed songs and acted on stage for three hours; the “Piotrkowianie” folk group from Piotrków Kujawski also performed. The stage programme thus brought together singing, acting and folk music. The three hours refer to the students’ performances, not to a stated overall duration for the festival. This distinction is useful when comparing the programmes: the Family Festival combined student performances with a folk group’s appearance.

Food and stalls were also part of the festival. Guests could enjoy traditional Kuyavian pea soup, grilled sausages, zapiekanki, chips, hamburgers, ice cream and cake. The selection included both savoury dishes and sweets. Visitors could also buy ornamental shrubs, ornamental trees and various household items on the school grounds. An auction and a raffle added to the programme. The Family Festival therefore included food, stalls and other activities as well as stage performances. This combination sets it apart from the official part of the fire brigade anniversary, whose programme is described as including speeches, a Mass and awards.

Family Picnic with Concert

A family picnic was held in Dębołęka on Sunday, 15 June 2025. The artists took part at the invitation of the local primary school. Agnieszka, Paulina, Tomek, Szymon, Karol and Robert gave a concert of their favourite hits at the picnic. This event therefore centred on a specific musical performance. Unlike the 2014 Family Festival, whose stage programme featured student performances and folk music, the picnic is described as featuring a concert by these six artists.

The three dates show different forms of local festival culture: a fire brigade anniversary with official proceedings and artistic performances, a family festival with stage performances, food and stalls, and a picnic with a concert. Their dates and programme details help distinguish the events and consider Dębołęka’s cultural celebrations in their respective historical contexts.
