A 22-kilometre cycling route runs through Godziszewo; at the same time, the manor estate, landscape park and historic residential buildings tell of different eras. This brings two interests together: a specific outdoor activity and an understanding of the village through its architecture and history. When planning your trip, you can choose between a route with a stated length and difficulty and a stay focused on exploring the area’s historical connections. The dates and architectural details below make it easier to compare these two options.

Cycling route and timing

The “Atrakcje przyrodnicze” cycling route is 22 kilometres long and runs through Godziszewo. A county strategy for the period 2015 to 2025 estimates that it takes about four hours without breaks. Treat this as an approximate time on the route, not the full duration of the outing: if you plan stops, you will need to add that time. The same strategy describes the route as moderately difficult; it runs on paved and unpaved paths. The difficulty rating and surface conditions therefore add further planning considerations to the estimated time.

Manor estate, park and residential buildings

The manor estate in Godziszewo includes a red-brick steward’s house built in 1910. Behind the manor house is a four-hectare landscape park dating from the second half of the 19th century. The park is therefore older than the steward’s house. Its location behind the manor house and its area provide two clear points of reference, while the construction date of the red-brick house marks a different period. A group of four-family houses from the early 20th century has also been preserved along the access road to the manor house. The term refers to houses designed for four families each. The steward’s house is dated more precisely: 1910; the group of houses is assigned to the early 20th century.

The village’s history in several periods

Godziszewo was first mentioned in 1391 under the name “Godzeszewo” as a noble village owned by Dobiesław Godziszewski. From 1696 until the Second World War, the village belonged to the Chobienice estates of the Mielżyński family. The two dates mark different chapters: the first concerns the village’s medieval first mention, while the second refers to a later period of ownership. This makes it possible to distinguish the history of the village name from the history of its belonging to an estate complex.

A dated glimpse of village life

On 2 August 2025, Godziszewo held a social badminton tournament for the third time. The event was organised by the village head, the village council and KGW Godziszewo. The tournament combined sporting competition with social entertainment. It offers a dated glimpse of village life, unlike the permanent architectural and historical points of reference. Location and choosing where to stay

Godziszewo lies on the road from Chobienice to Belęcin. The road provides a location reference; separately, the 22-kilometre cycling route runs through the village. When looking for a holiday apartment, you can start with this planning question: should your stay focus mainly on the cycling route, or be more oriented towards the manor estate and the village’s history?
