Several cycling routes lead to Biskupice or end there. So when choosing a place to stay with cycling in mind, it is worth considering the route length and course: the 22-kilometre R-2 connecting cycle route runs from Tuczno to Biskupice; the Piastowski Trakt Rowerowy is considerably longer at 104 kilometres and also ends in the village. This makes it possible to compare two routes with the same destination but different total lengths.
Cycling routes with different route characteristics
The Piastowski Trakt follows the EuroVelo 2 and 9 routes and crosses almost the entire area of Promno Landscape Park. Within the municipality, this cycling route covers 19.5 kilometres. The total length and the section within the municipality therefore provide two different measures for route planning. For local orientation, it is also worth noting that Biskupice is not only the endpoint of the Piastowski Trakt, but also lies along its described route through the municipality.
The R-2 runs for 22 kilometres from Tuczno to Biskupice. Along the way, it passes Lake Jezioro Kowalskie; an ethnographic site belonging to the Museum of the First Piasts is also located on the route. In Kowalskie, the route also passes a manor house with a historic park. These named stops give the R-2 a different character from the Piastowski Trakt. Before setting out, check the current signage and surface conditions. You should check in advance whether the museum site is accessible and whether visitors can enter the manor house grounds.
Promno Landscape Park and marked trails
Promno Landscape Park stretches between Biskupice, Pobiedziska, Czachurki, Jezierce, Wagowo and Sanniki. It largely overlaps with the Ostoja koło Promna Natura 2000 site, designated under the Habitats Directive. Three marked hiking trails—blue, green and yellow—as well as several cycling routes, including EuroVelo 2 and 9, run through the park. If you prefer exploring on foot, you can choose from the park’s three colour-coded hiking trails; cyclists can use the routes that run through the area as an additional way to navigate the landscape. Check the park’s current map before setting out, as trail routes may change.
Churches in Biskupice and Uzarzewo
Nearby, in Uzarzewo, stands the picturesque half-timbered Church of St Michael the Archangel, on a low rise in the Cybina valley. It is located on the Wooden Churches Trail around Puszcza Zielonka. Its architectural style and setting make it a specific cultural point of interest alongside the routes in the landscape park. If you are interested in church architecture, this half-timbered building offers a different focus from the cycling and nature trails.
Another church is located in Biskupice itself: the Roman Catholic Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help at ul. Dworcowa 34. When planning, you can distinguish between a destination in the village and a cultural point of interest nearby, rather than treating both churches as part of the same stop.
