Zaborówiec lies in the Przemęcki Landscape Park, between Brenno and Włoszakowice. A green cycling route passes through the village; the park also offers interconnected waters and a dense network of paths. The village’s history stretches from its beginnings around 1584 to the interwar period. This gives you several areas to focus on when planning: a circular route of a set length, activities in the park, and historical sites in Zaborówiec and its surroundings. If you are looking for a holiday apartment, you can first consider whether cycling, the landscape or culture should shape your stay.

Forests, Ponds and Park Waters

Zaborówiec is surrounded by forests. Large fish-farming ponds lie on the southern edge of the village. The Przemęcki Landscape Park includes a system of 24 bodies of water, most of which are interconnected. Lakes lie within a radius of 1 to 15 km; most have beaches, jetties and equipment rental facilities. These facilities may vary by season. If a rental facility or jetty is important for your stay, check its seasonal availability in advance.

Cycling and Trails in the Landscape Park

The Przemęcki Landscape Park has a dense network of interconnected trails that you can explore on foot, by bicycle, by kayak or on horseback. Green cycling route 3 is a 17-kilometre circular route: it runs from Brenno via Zaborówiec, Dominice, Górsko and Miastko, and back to Brenno. The Konwaliowy kayak trail also runs through interconnected lakes in the park; it is possible to cross almost all the park’s lakes in less than two days. The scales of these routes differ: the 17-kilometre cycling circuit versus a kayak crossing of almost all the park’s lakes in less than two days. Check current route conditions before setting out on a cycling trip.

Local History Across Several Periods

Around 1584, both the village, established on forest clearings, and a road linking Brenno with Włoszakowice through Zaborówiec came into being. Later periods brought different landmarks: Zaborówiec has a brick chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary, dating from the late 19th century. During the interwar period, a border guard post was located here. The former post building is now used as a retreat and charitable centre of the Archdiocese of Poznań.

Cultural Destinations Nearby

Nearby Górsko is home to a bird sculpture museum. It is about 5 km from Zaborówiec on foot or 7 km by car. Nearby religious sites include the Church of St John the Baptist in Przemęt, the Church of St Adalbert in Kaszczor and the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Refuge of Sinners in Wieleń. These three sites are part of the European Cistercian Route. Alongside the museum, you can therefore choose from several named religious sites connected by the same cultural route.
